Hakuouki Movie Part 2: Shikon Soukuu

This is the second half of the two-part Hakuouki movie which shows the final chapter of the Shinsengumis.

I was not looking forward at all to watch this movie. Halfway through it dawned on me on how this movie made me appreciate the TV series, Hakuouki Reimeiroku. Even though it was ho hum, well at least they're very much alive! The movie also makes a connection with Reimeiroku. After all the movies and the series where all announced at the same time.

Their impending doom makes me hang on every word they utter and breath in all their moves. (Okay that were lyrics from a song. Haha!) The way they died are different from the TV series. Not only do we have to relive the pain, we're now going to have two sets of painful memories of how they died. But remember on the first movie review, I mentioned there'll be a slightly different ending. All I can say is that you don't have to be cautious. You do need to watch this for closure. All the pain is gonna be worth it once you've watched this. Or not... I don't see the logic of doing this movie at all but the ending now made perfect sense to me.

I just have this overwhelming love for Kazama. I liked how he was given a less villain treatment and it gives you hope that there's always Kazama to look after Chizuri. And Hijikata..(Sigh!) Every scene is so powerful when you know he'll be gone any minute now.

In general, Hakuouki is equally beautiful and traumatic. But I would only wish for Hakuouki to continue if only they would do a Sweet School Life series. Heck! ONA would do. Concentrates really hard. Law of Attraction...Unlock!

Kiskis! My Boyfriend are Mint Candies!- 4 episodes Tang Tang meet guys who each represent a flavor of mint candies. It has a catchy, cute opening. At first there's a different feel on it which I can't pinpoint. And then I realized that they are talking in Chinese! This is my first completed Chinese animation. Well since it was way too easy to finish it. It's 5-minute ONA for 4 episodes. I think this premiered last June 4. But the first Chinese animation I watched is still currently airing (unconfirmed reverse harem), Phantom in the Twilight, which is a collaboration between Japan and China. Oh back to back Chinese reviews after The Flame's Daughter. Is China going to be booming with reverse harem now?

I was flexible with many titles where it's only one or two guys interested in the female protagonist and other gray areas. But we are now at a point where I can be strict with labeling reverse harem. I Have Three Boyfriends kdrama- 10 episodes The story starts with Ra Hee going on a date after another with her three boyfriends. She's frantically trying not to get caught. The drama will unravel how she got herself into this dilemma. This is the first reverse harem I've seen about cheating female main character. Certainly, this is bound to happen in reverse harem. BTW, My favorite boyfriend is the domineering director. It was not believable at first but it got me hooked. The story is milking the coincidences to the hilt. The ending is unexpected and here all along I was under the impression that it's going to be open-ended. Sorry, to keep this review short as it's a short drama with 15 minutes runtime per episode. Anime Review: Kamisama Hajimemashita OVA and Kako-Hen

Kamisama Hajimemashita OVA It consists of two 15-minute-ish episodes. The first episode is based on the manga while the second one is an original story. In the first episode, Tomoe is keeping a secret from Nanami, while in the second episode Tomoe and Nanami go on a trip. It's just appetizers so I recommend watching this first before the main course which is Kako Hen. Kamisama Hajimemashita Kako Hen- ( Kamisama Kiss Past Arc) It consists of five OVAs that were bundled on different volumes. Tomo is afflicted with a curse and the only way to save him is for Nanami to travel back in time.
