Ouran High School Host Club




Ouran Koukou Host-bu (Ouran High School Host Club)-26 episodes based on Bisco Hatori's manga

If possible it's best to watch the 1st episode without any idea what the plot is going to be. (like me) The school club consists of rich boys rendering their "hosting" skills to the ladies and mocks stereotypical roles like glasses guy type, twincest type, prince type, loli type etc. For all it's silliness, I enjoyed a lot watching this. It's a feel good, light and kawaii anime. The finale was promising and the manga is still ongoing so I do hope they make a second season. I also like the catchy closing song "Shissou" by Last Alliance especially when it was incorporated with the climactic ending.

All through the years I've been looking for animes that are similar to "Fushigi Yuugi". The closest animes that I've found were mostly love triangles like "Ayashino Ceres", "Alice Gakuen" etc. Then I accidentally discovered "Ouran High School Host Club" early January of this year. This was the turning point because I finally realized my holy grail. One of the otaku kid innocently pointed out that the cast is a reverse harem. It was the first time that I had heard of such term. Hence, the reverse harem marathon!

    Ouran High School Host Club is amazing, I've recommended this anime to all my friends. I just love the twist, Kaoru+ Hikaru and Tamaki are so funny.

    i read somewhere but i cant remember exactly where, that in the manga all of the hosts with the exception of honey 'like-like' haruhi even (gasp) kyouya and (double gasps) mori. say it isnt so. please anyone reply and dis/confirm this info for me. i'm having my final exam so i cannot read the manga from the beginning. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!!!!

    well ive only seen the anime but i can tell that kyouya shows light signs of being interested in haruhi. Even though he plays it off so well(remember he is the cool-type) but if you look hard enough somethings their. Now for mori-senpai i never saw any real moments except for ep 7 when he held haruhi in his arms. The twins are my favorite, but i feel i relate to karou better than hikaru. But i gotta say that tama-chan has this one in the bag, but he earned it. like im a guy and im not gay either i just really enjoy animes and this was my first reverse harem, but i believe that this shall be my favorite love anime ever ^_^

Manga Review: Alice in Bishounen-Land Vol. 2 (final volume)

But once you got used to the humor, everything seems funnier this time around. The randomness of the backstories, the non-stop comical situations, and cheesy jokes. I'm loving them all now including the minor characters. The one thing that balances it all out is Alice. She's the shining beacon of reason and her spot-on observations make it more laughable.    For something crazy, it briefly touches 'beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder'. And it's not in your face at all.     Anyway, I'm Falling In Love With You Vol. 1 by Haruka Mitsui Mizuho grew up with her friends in Koigama Highland. The springtime of her youth awaits her as she turns seventeen. Anime Review: Kiskis! My Boyfriends are Mint Candies!

Kiskis! My Boyfriend are Mint Candies!- 4 episodes Tang Tang meet guys who each represent a flavor of mint candies. It has a catchy, cute opening. At first there's a different feel on it which I can't pinpoint. And then I realized that they are talking in Chinese! This is my first completed Chinese animation. Well since it was way too easy to finish it. It's 5-minute ONA for 4 episodes. I think this premiered last June 4. But the first Chinese animation I watched is still currently airing (unconfirmed reverse harem), Phantom in the Twilight, which is a collaboration between Japan and China. Oh back to back Chinese reviews after The Flame's Daughter. Is China going to be booming with reverse harem now?

  The video above is Levels of Reverse Harem version 2 (also posted  here ) Reverse Harem titles were very limited when I first started the blog eleven years ago. I was flexible with many titles where it's only one or two guys interested in the female protagonist and other gray areas. But we are now at a point where I can be strict with labeling reverse harem. Let's start with the classification of reverse harem-ness. This is for my sake too if in case I run off course again. 1. Five Flowers - This is literally reverse harem. The heroine has a harem of her own in her inner chamber. And we only have one example for this, manga and drama, Ooku. UPDATE: Please check STAGES OF REVERSE HAREM for more examples.

Drama Review: I Have Three Boyfriends

  I Have Three Boyfriends kdrama- 10 episodes  The story starts with Ra Hee going on a date after another with her three boyfriends. She's frantically trying not to get caught. The drama will unravel how she got herself into this dilemma.  This is the first reverse harem I've seen about cheating female main character. Certainly, this is bound to happen in reverse harem. BTW,  My favorite boyfriend is the domineering director.   It was not believable at first but it got me hooked. The story is milking the coincidences to the hilt.   The ending is unexpected and here all along I was under the impression that it's going to be open-ended. Sorry, to keep this review short as it's a short drama with  15 minutes runtime per episode.  This is the last of my backlog reviews from a couple of years ago.
