First Impressions of dramas (Eps. 1-3): Not Found Love and Find Me if You Can

This was supposed to be first impression of nine reverse harem dramas but I've decided to split them into smaller posts because it's taking me forever to finish them in one go. Let's start with Not Found Love and Find Me If You Can. These two are both short, "finding"-themed kdramas that aired under Fall Reverse Harem 2021 .  Not Found Love kdrama  - 10 eps. 15 mins. runtime   Seul is 25 years old and wants to get better at dating that she kept "wrong answer notebooks" for all her previous boyfriends and including the current one. She tries to analyze what went wrong in her relationships.  She presently has four notebooks. For Chorong, her first boyfriend in highschool. Minwoo, who she met in her twenties. Sangwoo, her college lover. And Hyunseok, her latest boyfriend. We have met the three guys but we're getting this vibe from another guy who might be included in the reverse harem. This falls under three flowers in  Levels of Reverse Harem  where th...

Drama Review: I Have Three Boyfriends

I Have Three Boyfriends kdrama- 10 episodes  The story starts with Ra Hee going on a date after another with her three boyfriends. She's frantically trying not to get caught. The drama will unravel how she got herself into this dilemma.  This is the first reverse harem I've seen about cheating female main character. Certainly, this is bound to happen in reverse harem. BTW,  My favorite boyfriend is the domineering director.   It was not believable at first but it got me hooked. The story is milking the coincidences to the hilt.   The ending is unexpected and here all along I was under the impression that it's going to be open-ended. Sorry, to keep this review short as it's a short drama with  15 minutes runtime per episode.  This is the last of my backlog reviews from a couple of years ago. And what are the odds it would fit perfectly in the  Stages of Reverse Harem . It is meant to be.   Love Reverse Harem Garden? Follo...

First Impression: Omameda Towako to Sannin no Motootto Eps 1-3 (Omameda Towako and Her Three Ex-husbands)/Dear Exes

Omameda Towako lives just fine with her daughter. She's also recently appointed as president of a construction company. But her life is still entangled with her three ex-husbands. One she married suddenly, the second for comedy and the last for fantasy...from the words of her father.  The start shows a montage of mishaps that await Omameda. The voiceover reminds me of Kamisama Hajimemata while the dialogues remind me of Niosiosin's  Pretty Boy Detective Club light novel. The storytelling is unusual but fun and rhetorical. The exchanges are rapid at times particularly between the second and third ex-husbands that half the time I don't absorb the wisdom they are trying to impart if there is one. It's a mishmash of random stuff that comes in perfect synchronicity of idiosyncrasies. What do I even mean? The second episode starts with the latest ex-husband's backstory (Nakamura) and then works on its way up to the second ex-husband (Sato) in the third episode. Obviously,...

First Impressions: Mairunovich, Girl2k and Celestial Authority Academy Episodes 1-3

Mairunovich jdrama / based on manga  Kinoshita Mairu is popular as "poison mushroom" (a pun for 'ugly'). She meets Tenyu who gives her a makeover. She's able to have the confidence to go on dates and meets Naru. Meanwhile her neighbor Mirai is not happy with the changes in Mairu.  Back then I always wonder if it was a reverse harem because of the wallpapers. And I feel a special connection to this even though I haven't read the manga. I'm happy it got a drama adaptation when normally I would always root for the animation route.  This may be tied with 3B no Koibito as my favorite among the first impressions from Winter Reverse Harem 2021 . And this is the drama among the winter lineup where the reverse harem is not really defined. There are three guys alright but it's not marketed blatantly as a reverse harem and it's taking its time for the main characters to build romantic feelings which I appreciate. Some of the reverse harem from winter are sho...

Drama Review: Oh My Baby~ I loved it but....

Oh My Baby- 16 episodes Jang Ha-ri is single, workaholic...and her biological clock to have a baby is ticking. She may have potential baby daddies: someone she hated, someone she grew up with and someone too young for her.  My first impression was off to a great start. (See " First Impression: Oh My Baby kdrama ~ Eps 1-4 ~ An Early Favorite for 2020 reverse harem dramas "). I was quick to judge that it will be in the same boat of other reverse harem dramas, Three Dads and a Mom and Happy 300 Days . And oh boy I was totally wrong. The end goal was to have a baby but it's not as simple as that. The very first hurdle is the father and she's not dating anyone. The story is about going the most realistic but non-conformist way or commit herself to a risky relationship and lose her small window of being a mom. And the complication doesn't stop there.
