Hello there! I go by 'ayreesa' which is based on my nickname IRL, Iris. Aside from sakura, Iris or Ayame is also a popular spring flower in Japan. It symbolizes heroism, royalty, and heraldry.
In Saiunkoku Monogatari, Ryuuki gives Ran Shuei and Ri Koyu these flowers as a sign of his trust in them. In Brothers Conflict, Iori gives the flower to Ema and tells her it means good news. But Kaname says there's a second meaning which is "I will risk everything for love." In Greek mythology (*coughs* Kamigami no Asobi *coughs*), Iris is the goddess of the rainbow and the messenger of the gods. I'm really destined to be a messenger of reverse harem love! My favorite color is purple too, Now, if only I get to see real Irises.

If my life will be turned into manga it will be a josei with my bishonen husband and four sons. I am based in the Philippines. Aside from reverse harem, I love other genres/media like US series, kdramas, sci fi, books, sometimes shonen... anything that strikes my interest. I also love fashion, stationery and bullet journals/planners, and having coffee me-time with myself.

Hi Found another reverse harem manga called Evyione. It isnt for young readers but is like a reverse telling of the little mermaid story. Thought it was very good.

ReplyDeleteGuess i am becoming a regular on this site, lol. Found two more reverse harem manga. Atasuki no hana is a cross between Saver and Fushigi Yuugi, but not grim as the first, and not so melodramatic as the second. The artwork was on the simpler side compared to manwha like Saver, but i found it entertaining and interesting. The second is a more mature themed manga called Dokuhime (Poison Princess). Its a semi horror gothic tale with amazingly drawn clothes and mostly non cliched characters .

Deleteits not a manga but i found a reverse harem series called The Academy by C.L. Stone, first set is The Ghost Bird series with 1 girl and 7 well actually 9 guys (if you count the slightly older ones) who all slowly fall in love with her. Its all very sweet and innocent and during book 5 another series starts (more mature) and the story overlaps, with a different character who's personality is like the complete opposite and she ends up in a group with 5 guys well 6 if you count the leader. https://www.goodreads.com/series/122683-the-ghost-bird-series

Delete:D so i just finished at anime which i think should definitely be on the list: Lupin III: The woman named Fujiko Mine. Almost every male character carries a torch for her at some point in the anime, and at 13 episodes, i finished it in two days. Its for the mature since it has lots of nudity but Fujiko was a strong heroine, not like your typical shojou rh main girl, who sounds like someone from Alvin and the Chipmunks and has a limited vocabulary of like ten words. The english dub was pretty good, and whats great is that you dont need to see the other Lupin series to understand what is going on. I give it an 8 stars.

DeleteI don't know if you played this I didn't see it on otome list but there's three games for ds call Tokimeki Memorial girl's side: 1st love, 2nd kiss, and 3rd story. They require to be patch if you wanna play it in English, 3rd story fan translation still in progress tho.

DeleteSome more reverse harem...yay!! so lets start with Tarot Cafe..its a finished manga with a more episodic feel till u get toward the end. A fascinating supernatural story with handsome male leads and some weird plot twists. Then there is Princess by Han, Seung-Won. Its an incredibly long intense story spanning three generations of love hate and wars. Its been on hiatus sadly for several years, and the art looks kinda 80ish in the the begininng but toward the end of the whats been written its actually very pretty. Last is Masca. i read this a while back, its oldish but the story is complex..not sure if its a a hundred percent sure reverse harem, but i love the chatacters..its also on hiatus.

ReplyDeletei'm searching for a reverse harem: its about a girl visiting a new school,she thinks its a music school, but in reality it isn't. there a 7 boys who fights against monsters at school with their instruments. that girl has to be their captain because she has special power, but not everyone accept her, some boys are really mad but a little later in the story they fall in love with her.

ReplyDeleteThat's a very good and hard question! Let me limit it to top 3 for each format. For anime- it's Fushigi Yugi, Saiunkoku Monogatrai and Ouran Highschool Host Club. For dramas- Hana Yori Dango, Hana Kimi (jdrama 1st ver) and Sungkyunkwan Scandal. I'm gonna forego with mangas since I haven't completed most of the mangas. For books- It's going to be The Academy for now.

ReplyDeleteWelcome to the word of rh! Based on what you've seen (Ouran & FB), You can try Brothers Conflict and The Wallflower. For old animes, I recommend my faves Fushigi Yugi and Saiunkoku Monogatari, while for newer ones I recommend Kamisama Hajimemashita and Akatuski no Yona. Sorry, I don't think they're on Netflix.

ReplyDeleteHi Ayreesa!! Recently there is a drama titled Master Devil Don't Kiss Me. Looks like a reverse harem drama. It's like a mashup of Boys Over Flowers And Mischevious Kiss/ Itazura Kiss with 3-4 guys liking a strong heroine. Worth watching if you're okay with the plot being kinda abit here and there.

DeleteJust read the first two books in an amazing RH series. It's called curse of the gods by Jaymin Eve and Jane Washington. The third one will be out this year and I think there will be a total of 5. The first book is called Trickery, the second Persuasion. Absolutely amazing.
