Haou Airen

Haou Airen ("Supreme King's Mistress") 9 volumes-complete

Kurumi is taken by Hakuron to the world of Mafia in Hongkong. I've already read 5-6 of Mayu Shinjo's works so I was bored with the first half considering Shinjo's characters looks the same, Kurumi falling in love with the guy way too soon (she's too easy) and the same 'Love Celeb' interruptions (BTW Hakuron had a cameo there but I didnt know him then). The turning point of the story is at the middle part then it was like "100% Perfect Girl" all over again. Same character flaws but way, way, way more smuttier and bloodier. All the guys that are after are all anti-heroes as well although one or two seems to have feelings but others were only after her body. :S For mature readers only. Thanks to Tartza for the tip!

So Bad!

By ayreesa

"So Bad!" by Miki Aihara 6 volumes-complete

Yokino's mom works as a maid and she minds that her mom cares more for the Renjyo brothers. She tries to prove her worth by aiming for the 'Student of the Year' title. But her mom had an accident and she was persuaded to fill in to her mom's shoes

This is Miki Aihara's (of 'Hot Gimmick' & 'Honey Hunt') earlier manga. It had a boring start but after a couple of volumes I was under Aihara's spell again. I like the clever devices and twists used in cliche situations and how she handles mature themes like it's just a very natural thing. She's really good in building up the characters like which guy will she end up with again? And the scans are exactly at a crucial arc. I hope she ends up with..... In "So Bad" you'll have an idea how the mangaka's art style evolved.

(In case nobody noticed, I've added a bizbar at the bottom page for episode releases. W…

100% Perfect Girl

100% Perfect Girl by Wann- 11 volumes

Jay is the 100% perfect girl for the foreign royalty, Jarte but all the forces of nature seems to pull them apart. The story is intended to end after 11 volumes and it will take you to a very long engagement tainted with vengeance, politics, betrayal and the whole nine yards of soap opera drama. I read this after I saw this being compared to 'First Girl'. I like this better than 'First Girl' and this is best manwha that I really liked so far in terms of art and story. I've read a few manwha and they all seem to look alike but the style for this one is different and gorgeous. I was in a snail pace for 3 weeks with the first 3 volumes. But then after the 4th volume I was so engrossed with it. I'm not kidding when I say that it's soap opera-ish make it a dark soap opera. All the characters are twisted. From the very cold-blooded hot villains to the obsessive anti-hero and the suicidal-depressive-Britney-is-that-you -her…

The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince

The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince or Coffee Prince - 17 episodes

Go Eun Chan is the head of their family. She does odd jobs and even pretended as a boy to work in a coffee shop which only employs male 'princes'. It may be considered reverse harem at the part wherein she's the only girl in the 'Coffee Prince' but the story is more than that. It was addictive and tearjerky but I lost interest during the end. I didn't find the stories of the supporting characters relevant. I was only in for Go Eun Chan and Choi Han Kyul. Her character is unforgivingly selfish and naive in love which is understable in the way she grew up. She has distorted which is right and wrong. Great acting by Yoon Eun Hye. I think I liked her style among the gender benders that I've seen. Horikita Maki is too pretty, while Ella Chen is too boyish. She balanced it with her androgynous feature and natural tomboyish charm. I was so-so with Gong Yoo but the minute he started with serious scenes he&…

Happy Children's Day!

From wiki:

May is the month of the Iris Festival. The tall-stemmed Japanese iris is a symbolic flower. Its long, narrow leaves resemble the sharp blades off a sword, and for many centuries it has been the custom to place iris leaves in a boy's bath to give him a martial spirit. Originally May 5 was a festival for boys corresponding to the Doll Festival, for girls, but in 1948 it was renamed Children's Day, and made a national holiday.

As I posted in my profile, in "Saiunkoku Monogatari", Ryuuki gives Ran Shuei and Ri Koyu these flowers as a sign of his trust to them. While in "Earl and Fairy", Iris is a message of love in the language of the flowers. And yup it's my nickname too. Summing it all up I'd like to consider myself a messenger of all the beautiful boys in reverse harem. :3
