Vampire Dormitory anime Ep. 1-3
The vampire Ruka saves Mito who's all alone in the world. Now Ruka can't stand girls and he's oblivious to the fact this his new thrall is actually a girl.
The animation is giving we have a budget well because it's Nakayoshi's 70th-anniversary project. I have only read just the first volume of the manga and it's pretty much the same as far as I can remember with a few inserts from the coven. But what I do clearly remember is that the manga is more risque with the suggestive art. So now, I'm not sure if I'm disappointed or not! (lol) Hence, the anime version will be here on the main blog and not on Patreon.
It also has cute motifs that one would expect from Yumeiro Patissiere or Shugo Chara. With the cafe, the heart necklace, the strawberries, and the dessert-like brown and red school uniforms. The bloodsucking, ah yes an integral part of all vampire stories in shojosei and whatnot, is reminiscent of the naughtiness of Ikuto towards Amu in Shugo Chara (no there are no vampires in SC) and a far cry from Diabolik Lovers. So I guess it's a cute, wholesome yet spicy, gender-bender vampire story then.

However, while the two episodes were cute the third episode tasted like a bitter blood in my mouth. The romance is rushed and the second lead guy is forced. And Mito risking her identity discovered by taking a bath in a mixed-gender bath. Everything is a mess! But not liking the third episode is a good thing actually. It's not making me too hyped up for my own good. Of course, I'm still going to watch this. I'm ready for my love triangle and vampire x gender-bender shenanigans. And I love the character visuals especially Ruka with his hairstyle and later on, the glasses like he needs one. (lol)
Being the only girl in the cafe and boarding school pretty much checks the reverse harem boxes. But the vibe I'm getting from Vampire Dormitory from the first volume of the manga and the anime opening is that the rest of the guys are going to be friends. Still, anything can happen especially with the 10-volume series. There's another guy in one of the manga covers and an elven-ish guy in the announcement for the second season. Both are not included in the present cast.
