Related Reviews: Phantom in the Twilight anime and Haru Matsu Bokura movie

Another day...another misses... This is getting a habit now to just wait for the misses to hit the magic three so I can just dump mini-reviews in one go. (Transferred She's Gotta Have It) Phantom in the Twilight -12 episodes- a collaboration between Japan and China Baileu Ton and her friend Mu Shinyao moves to London. They witnessed a supernatural creature which leads Ton to Cafe Forbidden with handsome employees. Turns out, she has ties with the cafe's origins and its inhabitants.

Manga Review: Sweet Girl

Sweet Girl - 3 Volumes (Complete) by Haruka Kanda Masaki Aoi's androgynous looks made her the target of her girl classmates to join the Confectionery Club and to find out why they refuse girls. Problem is she thinks it's actually a Molesting Club. One chapter scanlated so far. I think it's rare that we get glasses guy as main lead.

Amnesia

Amnesia - 12 episodes A girl wakes up on August 1 with no memories and she meets a guy claiming to be her boyfriend and a floating fairy that only she can see.  Okay so the girl is a pushover, but I like the idea that we can relate to the character at a first person point of view as we really have no idea where the story is going to. Everything is a clean slate. And it's so weird that they never mentioned her name or did I just miss it? I was caught off guard with the how the reverse harem element was played and the relevance of the date. They've given some tiny hints about it. I also love how the characters shined in their own right and for the first time I equally love all of them in their dark and sometimes twisted ways. If It was me I would be really confused  to which route I would choose. I find the plot and the characterization cleverly written but in the end it was it's own downfall. All the build up and then it abruptly ends. It's good that there...

Kaichou Wa Maid- Sama! anime

Kaichou Wa Maid Sama (The Student Council President is a Maid) 26 episodes Ayuzawa Misaki is the first female student council president of the former all-boy Seika Highschool. She rules with an iron fist to protect and increase the 20% female population. After a long day lording over her classmates she serves as part-time waitress in a maid cafe. But one day the most popular boy Usui discovers her secret after-school activities. I read the manga before and I didn't consider it really a 100% reverse harem. The summary above is taken from my manga entry 2 years ago. When I found about it being animated I had doubts if it will still have a reverse harem element. I haven't read the manga again since I posted about it but in the manga the stupid trio didn't have a name and the characters that are interested with Ayuzawa have not yet appeared or may not be in the manga at all. The anime turned out to be sweeter and funnier! The story is anything goes that happens ...

The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince

The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince or Coffee Prince - 17 episodes Go Eun Chan is the head of their family. She does odd jobs and even pretended as a boy to work in a coffee shop which only employs male 'princes'. It may be considered reverse harem at the part wherein she's the only girl in the 'Coffee Prince' but the story is more than that. It was addictive and tearjerky but I lost interest during the end. I didn't find the stories of the supporting characters relevant. I was only in for Go Eun Chan and Choi Han Kyul. Her character is unforgivingly selfish and naive in love which is understable in the way she grew up. She has distorted which is right and wrong. Great acting by Yoon Eun Hye. I think I liked her style among the gender benders that I've seen. Horikita Maki is too pretty, while Ella Chen is too boyish. She balanced it with her androgynous feature and natural tomboyish charm. I was so-so with Gong Yoo but the minute he started with serious scenes he...

Paradise Cafe

Gokujou no Yoru wo Ageru ("Paradise Cafe") by Fuji Morita 1 volume-complete Emi is the only female worker in the cafe. It's short, sweet and simple and the first oneshot in the series. The bishies are hawt but the girl is just so-so (but love her hair). Thanks to Janinemomo for the tip!

Yoru Cafe

"Yoru Cafe" ("Night Cafe") by Maki Enjouji 3 volumes-complete A widow becomes the owner of cafe as part of her late husband's will.

Petit Four

"Petit Four" by Peko Momoiro - ongoing Mei decides to run her grandfather's cafe and a motley crew of bishies. This is based on an otome game of the same name. Thanks to Nicole for the heads up.

Fun Fun Factory

"Fun Fun Factory" by Yoshitomo Watanabe 4 volumes -complete Michuri eats the 'witch berries' dessert from Fun Fun Factory. She learns from the owner that if 10 boys also eat the 'curse a la mode' within 24 hours they will be cursed and become the servants of the witch who possessed her. The hunt for the possible servants is kinda slow but their characters and powers are amusing. There's also some kind of a shonen-ai going on within the reverse harem. I can imagine this as a kawaii anime like Shugo Chara with magical girl, bishies, nekos, and desserts that made my sweet tooth ache.

The Student Council President is a Maid! manga

"Kaichou wa Maid-sama!" ("The Student Council President is a Maid!" or "My Sweet Kaichou") 6 volumes- ongoing by Hiro Fujiwara Ayuzawa Misaki is the first female student council president of the former all-boy Seika Highschool. She rules with an iron fist to protect and increase the 20% female population. After a long day lording over her classmates she serves as part-time waitress in a maid cafe. But one day the most popular boy Usui discovers her secret after-school activities. The story is surprisingly tame and boring at times for its' moe-ness. The cute art and promising romance is the only thing that's piquing my interest. I'm thinking this will end up as not a reverse harem since the story is about Misaki and Usui. But I'll give extra credits to the three idiots (A, B and C) who earned a lot of cameos and the Ayuzawa Club.

Happy Cafe

By ayreesa "Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume" ("Happy Cafe") by Matsuzuki Kou 9 volumes- ongoing Uru works at the bakeshop/cafe to be independent and to bring happiness to the customers. The heroine isn't beautiful but a kooky character. This is just a reverse harem candidate but I just find this too cute to pass. My sweet tooth was aching after I read this.
