Anime Review: Mr. Love Queen's Choice ~ idc I want a season 2 just for the boys

Mr. Love Queen's Choice (Koi to Producer: EVOL×LOVE)- 12 episodes The heroine is a producer of the show, Miracle Finder, which features all things strange. She meets four different men who in one way or another are connected to the show...and her. They will also lead her to the existence of evolvers, humans with powers. My First Impression for the series from episodes 1-3 is good but things started to get boring right after. But every time I get bored, I'll be disarmed by the guys' looks or by their personalities again. They are such a feast to the eyes! But if I really need to pick just one, my favorite is Gavin/Haku. (The first name is the English version while the second is the Japanese version. Correct me if I'm wrong)  Haku looks so refreshingly cool and badass with his earring.  Next are Kiro/Kira and Lucien/Simon just because they're hotter in their 'other' personalities. But if not for that, Kiro would have been last since his scenarios are not at...

First Impression: Mr Love: Queen's Choice episode 1-3 I have unreasonable love already

The heroine is a producer of the show, Miracle Finder, which features all things strange. She meets four different men who in one way or another is connected to the show...and her. They will also lead her to the existence of evolvers, humans with powers. Finally a straight-up, honest to goodness four flower reverse harem anime. (see Levels of Reverse  Harem ) Even though the official site synopsis already mentioned the heroine, I was not having it until we see her visual. She finally showed up in the promotional video a couple of months before the premiere. Then we hear her voice in the final PV. And come premiere, she didn't have a name! But I did like how they script the dialogues or use clever devices to ensure she never gets to introduce herself or mention her name. They also announced her seiyuu only after the first episode aired. Hisako Kanemoto who also voiced B-Project 's heroine, Tsubasa Sumisora. Unnamed female protagonists are common in otome games but for ...

Related Reviews: Ensemble Stars!, A3! Spring and Summer and Idolish7 Vibrato~ Not reverse harem but I enjoyed em all

Now that A3! Spring and Summer have sealed its non-reverse harem deal, it's the perfect time to bring back my penchant for posting in threes for related reviews. We could say this is the second part of  Related Review: Female Managers and All-boy Idol Groups: Idolish 7, B-Project and Top Management . But of course A3 has a female director and all-boy actors while Ensemble Stars! has a producer instead of a manager. So maybe we can call it now 'female-xxx and all-boy xxx-raising'. It doesn't make sense but you get the idea, right? Anyway, they fall under one flower in Levels of Reverse Harem . They are usually joshimuke which is media targeted for the female and has no romance routes. In the anime, one or more bishonen may show interest towards the female managers/producer/director whatever however the girls are in supporting roles only. The main feature is really them boys. Top Management is an exception since it's a kdrama. I'm going to rev...

Drama Review: Dream Knight

Dream Knight - 12 episodes Joo in Hyung is a very positive girl who lives by herself and who strives hard to fulfill her dreams. She's also a big fan of the idol group, GOT, who goes in the same school with her. Then one day four mysterious boys with strange powers appear to protect her.

Anime Review: Uta Prince No Sama Maji Love Revolutions

Uta Prince No Sama Maji Love Revolutions - 13 episodes Quartet has been chosen to open the most prestigious, SSS. Starish also hopes to becomes a part of and it will be divided into a cross-units to deem themselves worthy of entering the contest. Nanami will also work with Quartet in producing new songs.

Manga Review: Ai Kiss Idol Kiss

Ai Kiss Idol Kiss by Haruko Kurumatani 1 volume-complete Hina has been a long-time fan of the idol group, Kiss and when she finally gets the chance to watch their concert for the very first time, she finds herself as their "domestic animal".  The premise and the start of the story has the word "smutty" smeared all over it and later on I found out it was by Haruko Kurumatani of "Bishounen Oheya" and "Akutou Danshi Collection". Smutty mangas alert! I braced myself for lewd situations but instead I was surprised with the wholesome sweetness. The unexpected thing he did at Chapter 3 really gave my heart a lot of doki-dokis. We still have to wait for the last chapter though. And of course, I know you wouldn't miss the similarities with the Sunako from "The Wallflower" and Hana of "Crash!!". It also makes me wonder what would happen if we throw any of these three nosebleeding girls in the hands of the Sakamaki bro...

Anime Review: Uta Prince No Sama Maji Love 2000%

Uta Prince No Sama Maji Love 2000% - 13 episodes After Starish's successful debut, the group now enters the Masters Course under the guidance of their seniors who are also idols. Will they also have a chance to get nominated for the Uta Pri Award given to the best newcomer idol group? Can Nanami find the missing piece of Starish to make it? I hate to admit it but I wasn't a big much of a fan of the first season. And just like Neo Angelique and Hiiro no Kakera, I was bracing for the same indifference. But for the first time, I got schooled and I found a sequel that is actually better than the first. I think the reason it got more exciting now is that they are now working together as a group and not competing against each other. The let's-feature-a-character-per-episode is standard formula but I really enjoyed how they made the characters shine with glitz but still with a heart. The series wasn't just talking big when they used 2000%. They really doubled the en...

Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love 1000%

Uta No Prince Sama Maji Love 1000% - 13 episodes Nanami enters Saotome Academy in hopes of becoming a composer and maybe write a song for her idol someday. She met six wannabe idols including her idol's (evil) twin. Nanami must also partner with an idol for the school's finals. The school has just one rule and to never fall in love. I like it that the romance was not too hard sell and they're all after her talent. But the twin angle is just too used. I'm also not fan of their songs but it was catchy and I looked forward to them sing as a group. If you're into kpop and jpop this one's for you. My favorite character was Natsuki who turned out to be a fun surprise. I also love the palettes for the characters . It looks vibrant and hip. Overall the series lack consistency with engaging scenes. The anime is based in otome and also has a manga adaptation. The Starish band is voiced by Elements Garden. Coincidentally, the same group voiced another boy band ...

Koutei Gentei

Koutei Gentei (Emperor Limited) by Rina Yagami 1 volume-ongoing Aoi auditions to be part of the all-male model group,Luna to fill in for her twin brother who's sick. One chapter available so far. Thanks to Savvi and anonymous via skribit for the tip.

Seiyuu-Ka!

Seiyuu-Ka! by Maki Minami 1 volume-ongoing Kino Hime is a seiyuu freshmen who dreams of becoming a bishojo seiyuu in "Magic Fighter Lovely Blazers" but problem is she has no voice at all. Just like what I originally did with 'Oresama Teacher' I'm posting this entry based on the wallpaper above. I hope it'll be a reverse harem because I was hooked from the first chapter! The turn of events are so exciting!Three chapters scanlated so far so I looked for spoilers in wiki. It's from the mangaka of Special A. UPDATE: I read the summaries it's going to be a gender bender too. LOL!

Uta No Prince- Sama

Uta No Prince-Sama - story by Kanon Kunozuki, Utako Yukihiro, Broccoli, Chinatsu Kurahana art by Utako Yukihiro Nanami enters Saotome Gakuen with her dreams of becoming a songwriter. She'll be paired up someone who also dreams of becoming an idol. Two chapters scanlated so far. This manga is based on an otome. Thanks for the anonymous tip via skribit.

You're Beautiful

You're Beautiful (or You're Handsome) 16 episodes Go Mi Nyu pretends to be her twin brother and fills his spot as the newest addition of all-boy idol, A.N. Jell. The drama is not the first to mix in gender bender + showbiz type there's Idol Paradise and Cinderella Boy mangas. For the gender bender + twins set-up there's 'Secret Girl'. And of course it's predecessors in reverse harem live action are the two Hana Kimi's and Coffee Prince. But even with the tried and tested cliches the drama was able to create a refreshing take. It's not heavy on the drama per se and delivers funny scenes and original twists. I love the noodle mix dance and MTV in the fields with the boar. The actors gave justice to their roles as idols with their looks, character acting as well as musical prowess. Lee Hong Ki and Jung Yong Hwa are real-life members of idol groups. I was betting at first for Go Min Nam - Shin Woo but you can't deny the acting charms and the chem...

Wante→D

Wante-D by Aqua Mizuto 1 volume-complete Wante-d is composed of three stories and omake. The first one is about a girl trying to find the school thief, the second is about a girl pretending to the girlfriend of her longtime crush and the third story is about a girl who meets a deity who can grant wishes. The first two are reverse harems. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Aqua Mizuto (of MG Garden and Milk Crown) but there are some instances that I'd liked how she drew a certain character or enjoyed a sweet or funny scene. This has been on my list for the longest time and thanks for the anonymoous tip in skribit for reminding me finally read this.

Reverse Harem Turned BL

Orange Planet I thought it was a reverse harem until one errant bishie wanders off well to another bishie. Like the case of "Orange Planet". (Thanks to Keisha btw for the tip) "The Gentlemen's Alliance" almost didn't make it. "Milk Crown" fell short as well because of the BL. Anyway I'm not sure how "Billion Princess" will fare. "Billion Princess" by Yu Jia Yan 3 volumes- ongoing Bai Yao's dad heads a recording company but an accident transforms her from 'Billion Princess' to an aspiring manager who will start from zilch. It has a "Skip Beat" feel on it. Thanks to an anonymous visitor for the tip :)

Ardour

Ardour by Wu Rou Xuan 10 volumes-ongoing Ardour is the most popular boy band and Lian, an aspiring fashion student, doesn't even know or heard about them. The story scanlated so far is still at it's early stages. Let's wait for the threads and romance to unravel. Thanks Amel for the tip!

Idol Paradise

By ayreesa "Idol Paradise" by Miyabi Asami 1 volume-complete Takaishi is the newest member of the boy idol group, Gold. But their fans and including the group doesn't know that he's really a girl. It's like "Cinderella Boy" and both are oneshots. This is actually a first half of a twinbill manga but the scans are not yet complete.

Yume Chu

"Yume Chu" ("Dream Kiss") Ooya Kazumi 4 volumes-complete Azuki has great luck in discovering idols (like Crash & Penguin Revolution), but she totally suck at finding love. She met her ideal guy, but she's in a dilemma. He's one of the candidates of the talent search called "Romeo Gakuen". She can either help him become a big star or crush his dreams for a normal relationship. I enjoyed reading it so much that I wanted more. I wished the story were longer. I'm screaming for a sequel. I'd like to see what will happen with the rival for the heroine's heart. The art and facial features are beautiful, but the mangaka drew Azuki's heeled feet horribly!

Crash!

By ayreesa "Crash!" by Yuka Fujiwara 2 volumes- ongoing Hana is a great asset to their talent agency as she has a nose for a potential star. She is then on a lookout for their next big star to launch in time for their anniversary. Her talent and job is similar to the heroine of "Penguin Revolution".

I'm No Angel

"Tenshi Ja Nai!!" ("I'm No Angel") Takako Shigematsu 8 volumes Traumatized from her past, Hikaru is contented to be just a tree in the background. But she was cast in the spotlight when she becomes roommates with actress-classmate, Izumi. Life gets more dramatic as she becomes an unwilling accomplice to protect Izumi's real identity erm gender. I enjoyed the series from the end of volume 3 straight to finish. I admired how the mangaka worked the characters' weaknesses that you'd feel for them. I sometimes I get irritated with naive and helpless heroines, but in this case I really liked Hikaru (and loved Izumi!). The romance factor slowly build up and the series ended in such a sweet suspense.

Never Give Up!

"Neba Giba!" ("Never Give Up!") by Hiromu Mutou 13 volumes-ongoing Kiri vowed that she would strive to look like a princess for Touya. Problem is, she looks like a prince and Touya is more of a princess-type. Kiri faces a lot of obstacles in pursuit of love but nothing can stop her even from enlisting as a male model in order to protect him. It took me a long time before I get used to their physical dilemmas. You can only read this if you can endure a long reading without makeout sessions in each chapter. This element seems to be a must in shojos or smuts but in it's absence in "Never Give Up" you will really feel that their feelings for each other is pure. I also have this favorite side story when young Kiri wants to hit her mom with a bat.
