Reverse harem is not an exact science. Fans may have a different interpretation of what reverse harem is. Now, this a tale of two otomes turned animes from Winter 2015 who just didn't quite feel reverse harem at all. And  I thought it was going to be the best season ever. Boy, I was wrong.  Prince of Stride: Alternative- 12 episodes Nana enters Honan Academy to join the stride club.

Starry Sky - 26 episodes Tsukiko is the only female student in the formerly all-boy astronomy school, Seigetsu Academy. She meets different boys (and men) who represent each of the constellations. There's no major goal or conflict in the anime. Can I say it's a slice of life? It's practically how the year went by with background stories and flashbacks of how they all meet and how they are related to each other.     I've been posting monthly wallpapers of Starry Sky for years now and all this time I had no idea of who they all are. I watched only three episodes back then and placed it on hold after finding it boring. But before I know it four springs, four summers, four autumns and three winters have passed. This is the most classic example of procrastination. Gomen! But now that I have finally finished watching it. I actually liked it. It's simple yet deep. Mushroom College by Shiu Wan - 4 volumes It's the start of classes again at Mushroom College and handsome guys popped into Lin's life. But she must not get sidetracked as she had already set her eyes on to her idol. Sigh! Only two chapters are available and hasn't been picked up for a long time. I noticed that the art style from its' time (eight years ago) is similar with other mangas of the same timeline. Do you still see styles like this at the present time? I find the cat eyes distracting and I also like the cute mushroom club names. This really got me wondering of what will happen with the guys. This is a Chinese comics or manhua and not to be confused with Korean comics or manhwa. And I only learned the difference just now. I didn't notice the difference in the spelling and meaning before.  

Kamigami no Asobi Ludere Deorum- 12 episodes Yui Kasunagi is transported to a mysterious garden together with gods from different mythologies. There's the Greek Gods: Hades, Dionysius and Apollon, Japanese Gods: Takeru and Tsukito, Norse Gods: Loki, Balder and Thor and oh yeah an Egyptian teacher, Thoth. The gods are tasked to get closer to humanity through interaction with their human classmate, Yui. I loved the premise of teaming up different gods from different mythologies. I'm really into Greek and Roman mythologies back in college. I also loved the fact that my nickname, Iris, is a Greek goddess of the rainbow. But sadly the plot didn't offer much. It did succeeded though in providing eye candy-- handsome and scantily clad gods and colorful animation -- and funny school misadventures. Storm Lover by Midori Murasaki - 2 volumes (complete) Yuna transfers to St. Louis High and finds herself in a council with bishie members. It's based on an otome game about highschool and forming relationships. The manga will cover the different routes in the game. Only 2 chapters are scanlated so far.

Sweet Girl - 3 Volumes (Complete) by Haruka Kanda Masaki Aoi's androgynous looks made her the target of her girl classmates to join the Confectionery Club and to find out why they refuse girls. Problem is she thinks it's actually a Molesting Club. One chapter scanlated so far. I think it's rare that we get glasses guy as main lead.      

  Bokura no Himitsu wo Kyouyuu shiyou ka by Yuki Shiraishi  - oneshot Yuka goes to the Ikimonogakari's to ask for help to find the courage to confess for Valentine's. But their idea of help will bring out  extra non-human parts. Thanks to the anonymous tip via skribit.

Wante-D by Aqua Mizuto 1 volume-complete Wante-d is composed of three stories and omake. The first one is about a girl trying to find the school thief, the second is about a girl pretending to the girlfriend of her longtime crush and the third story is about a girl who meets a deity who can grant wishes. The first two are reverse harems. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Aqua Mizuto (of MG Garden and Milk Crown) but there are some instances that I'd liked how she drew a certain character or enjoyed a sweet or funny scene. This has been on my list for the longest time and thanks for the anonymoous tip in skribit for reminding me finally read this.

"Kaichou wa Maid-sama!" ("The Student Council President is a Maid!" or "My Sweet Kaichou") 6 volumes- ongoing by Hiro Fujiwara Ayuzawa Misaki is the first female student council president of the former all-boy Seika Highschool. She rules with an iron fist to protect and increase the 20% female population. After a long day lording over her classmates she serves as part-time waitress in a maid cafe. But one day the most popular boy Usui discovers her secret after-school activities. The story is surprisingly tame and boring at times for its' moe-ness. The cute art and promising romance is the only thing that's piquing my interest. I'm thinking this will end up as not a reverse harem since the story is about Misaki and Usui. But I'll give extra credits to the three idiots (A, B and C) who earned a lot of cameos and the Ayuzawa Club.

By ayreesa "Boy's Kingdom" by Aya Oda 1 volume -complete Himeno transfers to a school formerly exclusive for boys. She has to deal the unruly boys and the Hallelujah Student Council. The heroine looks ordinary and the president looks weird with his undone shirt buttons. I find the manga serious. If you want a light and funny story with a girl classmate in all-boy school, try "Rockin Heaven'" or "Dear School Gang Leader". This oneshot has a prequel which I haven't read yet.

By ayreesa "Nadeshiko Club" by Miku Sakamoto 7 volumes-complete Reo was dumped by her boyfriend because she doesn't know any household chores. She joins the Home Ec Club to learn sewing, manners, cooking etc. It is composed of 4 eccentric but handsome students. Don't let the cover fool you. The art is actually nice but the SD form are plain. The heroine looks like Sunako of "Yamato Nadeshiko Shiche Henge" when she's in her beautiful form. Her love interest will be the guy that I least expected. It has both boring and engaging moments. Hopefully there'll be more of the latter. It's like "Beauty Pop" where each of the guy is expert on something.

"Beauty Pop" by Kiyoko Aria 6 volumes Kiri Koshiba has a talent for hairstyling. But she's nonchalant about it much to the chagrin of the "Scissors Project" members who dream of becoming the number 1 in the field of beauty-making in Japan. I was hooked at the start but became bored with it because the romance never bloomed and the magic of the makeover contests eventually faded. I like the cutout designs on the covers with the small scissors. I'm not yet done with "Beauty Pop Stage 2" which is the continuation of Volumes 7-10. I hope the romance factor will be addressed.

By ayreesa "Love Master A" by Kyoko Hashimoto 2 volumes Aria transferred schools to leave her past as "The Lovemaster". But her ironic reputation preceded her and she becomes the president of the school council cum dating service. I read in some review that described this as a reverse harem. Check the teaser of a few pages of the manga from Gocomi site.

By ayreesa "Beniiro Hero" ("Crimson Hero") by Takanashi Mitsuba 12 volumes-ongoing Volleyball is everything for Nobara that she'd rather be dorm maid than inherit the ryotei or restaurant. This is a half reverse harem because at the start she's serving the top 4 players of the boys' volleyball team and as the manga progresses she was was able to form her own female volleyball team. "Crimson Hero" has a winning combination of comedy, volleyball action and romance. The art is beautiful too. The heroine is tomboyish but a real beauty. I've put off writing it since it's not a full reverse harem but all I can remember is that I enjoyed it. I've read the latest chapter, and it's looks like there's a new set of reverse harem.

By ayreesa "Aa Aishi no Banchousama" ("Dear School Gang Leader") Fujikata Mayu 3 volumes - ongoing Hirayama transferred to an industrial high school not knowing that it has an 850 all-male population. It's a funny and a promising manga that I can't wait for more. Thanks to Tartza for the tip!

"Five" by Furukawa Shiori 7 volumes-ongoing Hina is the first girl who made it into the special class filled with nerds, geeks, and the five bishies. She becomes the "princess" among the five guys. It's like "Ouran High School Host Club" with anything goes story in each chapter but not as funnier. Well, I hope it picks up. It even used similar devices like hosting, lightning phobia, and a lot more. The art is like a cross between "Lovely Complex" and "Hot Gimmick" and has a contemporary feel to it.

"Daiamondo Heddo" ("Diamond Head") by Misushiro Setona 5 volumes Nanao is a transfer student in Mehabia Catholic School. There she meets the Judicature Club, a club that conduct hearings and issue verdicts on students' disputes. The story is well written with mystery, comedy, romance and a heartbreaking drama. =( The art seems inconsistent with the characters looking weird at times or maybe that's the point that I missed.
