She knows the ins and outs of the story but the routes are not moving forward just like it goes in the game. I felt lost at first too with the story and was wandering aimlessly with Alice. And when she decided her purpose, I was not convinced. It is fast-paced it's just that the premise was different in how the story played out.

But those who are patient are rewarded. There is a twist which is a significant otome element. But I had a hard time connecting with the lead guy. Maybe if it was a different medium...say anime? ( Please don't hate me every time I say this on light novels.) Maybe I might be bowled over? But I would most certainly love to see the frivolous and period wardrobe and oh yeah the death flags. I'm desperate to love this story because well I'm biased with anything Lewis Caroll classic and thank God I finally felt the chemistry of the two leads as it near its end.

They are into her but nothing full-blown. Think Phantom in the Twilight or Code Realize. I think my favorite characters are the twins. And maybe Jack. I find the twins so cute and funny and I swear I can hear them talking after another or in unison. And their good ending with Alice in the game just tickled me pink. I like it when Alice goes to otome fangirl mode. She spews fandom or route nicknames for each boy. Sometimes we can't distinguish if it's her talking or Alice the game character but I wouldn't mind using that as an excuse for her reaction to Madeline's past. It just didn't sit well with me.

The death flags seem uneventful at times but there were dark elements alright especially their backstories. The backstories, the conflict, and the resolution did not feel rushed or forced. The elements came together in perfect harmony. And that's including the last-minute 360-turn of my feelings for the lead guy. Who knew that would even be possible?

The rich, descriptive words and the writing takes me to Victorian London. Overall, I love the prose and the gothic elements. It's not perfect but it perfectly captures the sense of navigating uncharted waters just like how Alice is when she fells into Wonderland. There's a Sleeping Beauty element within the Alice story too. The book didn't leave much to your imagination what to expect for Volume 2 but I'm onboard for it. It's so amazing how much this reincarnated evil/villainess in an otome game became a trope. I mean a very hyper-specific niche at that. This is my third reincarnation inside an otome game after My Next Life as A Villainess anime and Past Life Countess, Present-Life Otome Game NPC?! light novel. For a girl who got suck into an otome game, the only drama I watched so far is Lascivious Lady Season 1 and 2. I finished two more light novels (hint: those getting animated). Hopefully, I can post the two reviews next month. What reverse harem light novels do you want me to read and review?

All-Time Top Ten Reverse Harem Anime

Hello Wallflowers! I am not going to do a decade in review since I did that already a couple of years ago. but I am loooong overdue for my top 10 anime. I actually made one coincidentally a decade ago but it's a consolidated top 10 of everything from anime, manga and dramas as the titles are fewer back in 2010. I should have done it sooner but it's the nagging feeling that I should finish everything before I can post this.
