Anime Review: Kiskis! My Boyfriends are Mint Candies!

Kiskis! My Boyfriend are Mint Candies!- 4 episodes Tang Tang meet guys who each represent a flavor of mint candies. It has a catchy, cute opening. At first there's a different feel on it which I can't pinpoint. And then I realized that they are talking in Chinese! This is my first completed Chinese animation. Well since it was way too easy to finish it. It's 5-minute ONA for 4 episodes. I think this premiered last June 4. But the first Chinese animation I watched is still currently airing (unconfirmed reverse harem), Phantom in the Twilight, which is a collaboration between Japan and China. Oh back to back Chinese reviews after The Flame's Daughter. Is China going to be booming with reverse harem now?

Anime Review: Kenka Bancho Otome: Girl Beats Boys

Kenka Bancho Otome: Girl Beats Boys- 12 episodes Hinako was convinced by her twin into swapping places with him in the all boy school, Shishiku Academy. And it's not just simple as that. It is a highschool full of delinquents and she has to fight her way all the way to the top.

Anime Review: Bonjour Koiaji Pâtisserie

Bonjour Koiaji Pâtisserie (Sweet Love Pâtisserie) -24 episodes Sayuri enters the Fleurir Confectionary School through a scholarship. The school has a very strict code against romantic relationships between teachers and students especially with the presence of very attractive teachers.

Anime Review: Starry Sky

Starry Sky - 26 episodes Tsukiko is the only female student in the formerly all-boy astronomy school, Seigetsu Academy. She meets different boys (and men) who represent each of the constellations. There's no major goal or conflict in the anime. Can I say it's a slice of life? It's practically how the year went by with background stories and flashbacks of how they all meet and how they are related to each other.     I've been posting monthly wallpapers of Starry Sky for years now and all this time I had no idea of who they all are. I watched only three episodes back then and placed it on hold after finding it boring. But before I know it four springs, four summers, four autumns and three winters have passed. This is the most classic example of procrastination. Gomen! But now that I have finally finished watching it. I actually liked it. It's simple yet deep. Some arcs are fun, yet some arcs evoke sadness.  One of the major characteristics of Starry Sky...

Anime Review: Diabolik Lovers

Diabolik Lovers -  12 episodes Yui was sent off by her father to live in a mansion with six sadistic vampire brothers. The operative word is "sadistic". Little girls, please watch this when you're older, 'kay? I love the overall gothic feel of the anime. From the beautiful character designs, and the red-purplish palettes down to the little details like the clock in the episode title cards. But as for the storyline, it creeps me out at first but as it progress it becomes repetitive. Each of the brother had their several turns of of harassment and of sucking her blood. I get it that it's going to have a lot of fan service since it's a vampire story after all. I was just not expecting non-stop fetish scenes. And that's for a 12-episode anime running for 15 minutes each (inclusive of 1 recap ep). If you were Yui, it would feel like 300 Shades of Gray (or in this case red), 360 degrees and 24/7 with the six Samaki brothers. At first, I find myself drawn ...
