Anime Review: Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love ~Legend Star~

Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love ~Legend Star~ (Season 4) 13 episodes

The show picks up right where the last season ends off. But the winning group is unhappy with the result and another contest will be held again to decide once and for all of whose group will perform for the Triple S. While preparing for the contest, each Starish and Heavens members pairs up for a song composed by Nanami.

It's been forever since I finished season three. Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love ~Legend Star~ is in the bottom of my watchlist but after watching the trailers of Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love Kingdom and blogging several updates of the film's success, well it piqued my interest again. After swearing to hold off idol anime for a while, I picked up the last TV series from the frachise. As I read my previous reviews, I noticed a love and hate pattern. I didn't enjoy seasons 1 and 3. But I loved season 2 and....now season 4. If you're curious with my past reviews, you will see how my reviews has evolved (for the better I hope). Gomen nasai! Also, I have not played the otome game.

I appreciate Uta Pri now compared to before. The high quality of animation is so pleasing to the eyes. This is after being used to the distorted faces of the last idol anime I've watched. It was a visual treat  and most especially the bishonen which I only realized just now are so manly. I also like the contrast of the color palettes of the three groups. I have no particular favorites but I'm just relaxing here and basking in the beauty of all them bishies. And need we say more about the music? With its popularity, it makes sense that Uta Pri has the budget to get the best in all aspects of production.

Now that we're past with the pleasantries, let's get to the nitty-gritty. I've braced my expectations to a minimum. It started with the same old calling of Nanami with different nicknames and let's-feature-a -bishonen-pair-per-episode. I mean after four seasons they would run out of idol related stories to spin. Right? Uta Pri has the most number of sequels in all reverse harem anime with the same set of characters and continuous storyline finishing off in a movie. But I am fairly impressed with the story angles they created for each pair. Sure it had cheesy moments but it was very easy to finish it unlike the last anime I watched...*coughs* Phantom. And most of all, I liked how they neatly closed the character conflicts particualarly Natsuki, Masato, and Otoya.

My confidence for reverse harem radar is zero after watching straight three flower and two flowers levels. But oh yeah it's back to full meter again after watching Uta Pri. I should be happy but I hate to say this, at this point, it's overkill for all three groups to fight over one girl. This is the part where I find it forced. Okay, the other two groups are after her musical prowess but even still wouldn't she be biased with Starish? I think Starish has the best song among the three. And they are treating her as if she's a music factory churning non-stop songs. I mean that's her job and she has the talent...

But kudos for still trying to make Nanami important from start to finish. I had this warm fuzzy feeling when they all hugged her near the end. It's like their goodbye for her. It's not yet goodbye though since there's still the movie but they have not shown her in the key visuals or trailers at all. So I wonder...No spoilers please! :) In the latest smartphone game, Shining, Nanami is not included. But one thing's for sure, I have rediscovered my love again for Uta Pri. And now I am so pumped up for the movie! Weeks after I finished I was still humming Legend Star. Yeah, I'm so late I know. LOL

Hello, Wallflowers! This is Ayreesa.  I recently shared my 18 Gems :  reverse harem reads from 2007–2019 that shaped me. Now it’s time for my personal favorite* reverse harem reads from 2020 to present , listed in the order I read them. Personal favorite = Some are problematic. 😅Sorry! Who knows, this might turn into one of your treasured favorites, too! Winning a copy of Mia and the Forbidden Medicine   Report back in 2020 gave me the push to request review copies and start covering licensed titles + licensing news . I’d love to cover even more stories, but both time and budget keep me from reading everything on my list. To make the most of my schedule, I share quick impressions and mini-reviews on Patreon. If you’d like to help me keep exploring new titles, you can support me through Patreon or Ko-fi . 💎18 Gems: Reverse Harem Reads That Shaped Me from 2007-2019 (Manhwa, Manga & Novels)

Hello wallflowers! This is Ayreesa. These 18 titles span 2007–2019 , my ultimate scanlation era . I didn't include series that already have anime adaptations and focused on stories I’ve finished or followed through many volumes. They are arranged in the order I read them. If you are new to reverse harem, treat these as hidden gems of reverse harem, but be warned that some tropes may feel dated or problematic today. This is Part 1 of 4 of Reverse Harem Garden  18th birthday series .  In the Philippines, a debut ball includes dancing with 18 boys who each offer a rose—known as the 18 Roses—and receiving 18 candles and messages from girls. Some even add their own twist with 18 gifts, 18 bills, or even 18 shoes… you get the idea. Some are kinda reverse harem. See Levels of Reverse Harem. All-Time Top Ten Reverse Harem Anime

Hello Wallflowers! I am not going to do a decade in review since I did that already a couple of years ago. but I am loooong overdue for my top 10 anime. I actually made one coincidentally a decade ago but it's a consolidated top 10 of everything from anime, manga and dramas as the titles are fewer back in 2010. I should have done it sooner but it's the nagging feeling that I should finish everything before I can post this. What if there's a hidden gem in my backlog that piled up beginning 2015 (due to pregnancy)?  Fast forward to last year and major life events later, I have finished nine anime in eight months. It felt like forever. And after that, I found out I could actually start the list even without watching the backlog. LOL But the good thing is I was able to finish it and that has put off a lot of guilt feelings from me. I mean who blogs about reverse harem and never watches past the first episode??? Sadly, I don't remember most of the story of the anime...

Manga Review: I Was Reincarnated as the Villainess in an Otome Game but the Boys Love Me Anyway! Vol. 2

I Was Reincarnated as the Villainess in an Otome Game but the Boys Love Me Anyway! Vol. 2 (Akuyaku Reijou Desu ga, Kouyaku Taishou no Yousu ga Ijou Sugiru) Manga by: Ataka Light novel: by Sou Inaida Art by: Hachipsu Wen All Mystia wants is to avoid death in the otome game she is reincarnated in and to keep her family and servants safe. However, the guys seem to have bugs and are either raising or missing events on their own. Disclaimer A review copy was provided by Netgalley. Check out the first volume review . In the first volume, Mystia meets two of Kyun Kyun Love's suitors, Raid and Eric. In this sequel, we get to see how she meets Jesse, the teacher. For the fourth guy, Robert, it is more of pleasantries. The nicknames in the first volume are still not crystal clear to me. The sparkling prince. The cool tsundere. The gaudy guy. The yakuza teacher.  I managed to get the first two mixed up while the other two have yet to unfold their said attributes. The competitiveness betw...

Webcomic Review: Men of the Harem 17 episodes (ongoing)

Men of the Harem -   Adapted by Herelee and Art by Yeongbin/based on webnovel by Alphatart The prologue starts with Latrasil as newly- crowned emperor. But instead of choosing a consort, she decided to create a harem of concubines just like what the previous male rulers have done in the past. Will her harem help her get revenge on her old lover and secure her throne? Based on webnovel. This is currently being published on Webtoon. For uniformity, I will refer to all scrolling online comics or manga or manhwa as webcomics but I may slip and use it interchangeably with webtoons.  The reverse harem is seven but officially it's five who signed the papers and all as concubines. There's Klein, the prince of Karisen; Ranamun, eldest son of Duke Atraxil; Guest Rhodes, second son of chancellor of Tharium; Tasir, heir to the richest trading company; and Carlein, King of Mercenaries.  There are dark themes but for the most part, it's fun with no lull moments. Maybe it’s too p...

xxx- Over Flowers

Yoko Kamio's "Hana Yori Dango" manga has captured the world that it had spawned Japanese, Taiwanese and Korean live action dramas. It was also copied by Chinese and now it will soon-to-be adapted into an American drama too.  She might have not expected that it will also start the foursome trend in Korean dramas (you can check out out dramabeans for more info) and variations of the monicker with totally different storylines. Boys Over Flowers - The one that started it all in Korea. A Gentleman's Dignity - Amidst the foursome and flower boys trend this drama upgraded their own and marketed the foursome as F40. Yup, flower boys in their forties. Grandpa Over Flowers -  It doesn't end there. The title gets an extra, extra upgrade. Move over F4 and F40, it's the Grandpa Over Flowers. It's a reality show of grandpas traveling in different countries. Noonas Over Flowers - After the success of, Grandpa Over Flowers, the...

Light Novel Review: I'd Rather Have a Cat than a Harem! Reincarnated into the World of an Otome Game as a Cat-loving Villainess Vol.1

I'd Rather Have a Cat than a Harem! Reincarnated into the World of an Otome Game as a Cat-loving Villainess Vol.1 by Kozusu Kobato Art by: Hinano Chano Translation by Jenny Murphy | Under Winter Reverse Harem 2022 Amy is the 10-year old daughter of Earl of Northland. She suddenly remembers her past life as a highschool student in Japan. And it's not just her...her whole family gets reincarnated! But instead of becoming a villainess and having a harem, she would rather just have a pet cat. Her mom hatches a plan of having her gain weight to ward off an engagement. Disclaimer: A review copy was provided by the publisher.  It should be obvious by the title that it is going to be more of cats than harem. It's a heaven for anyone who loves cats so much. There will be a cat mountain, cat cosplay, and a whole lot more cat cuteness. If you are not obsessed with cats or animals, by the end of the book you will be one.  Of course, we're still going to talk about the harem members...

Winter Reverse Harem Dramas 2021 Reviews Part 1: Fling at Convenience Store, No Going Back Romance, Life of Namjoo, 3B No Koibito, Mairunovich & Girl2k

This is the record-breaking number of dramas in one season! Nine reverse harem dramas not including 300 Year-Old Class of 2020 which seems like a promotional show? I can't see myself doing one review at a time. It's going to take me forever so I'll review them in one go. I have yet to finish cdramas: Celestial Authority Academy, In Love With Your Dimples and Unique Lady/Lascivious Lady Season 2. Those are 20+ episodes each.  It's also hard to rank them as they have different formats but I've grouped them according to country of origin. Some are super short whilst others are just right. There were some that I loved but the ending left me sad. And there was one or maybe two that are not a reverse harem! Reverse harem baiting!!! asdfjisojgjrjgk And there's one drama where the heroine didn't choose anyone! Now, now...not gonna tell which drama was that. *evil laugh* kdramas Coincidentally, all these  dramas are   short and didn't disappoint. Okay, there'...
