Happy 12 Years Blogoversary! (And announcements!)


It seems like it was only yesterday when I started 12 days of reverse harem Christmas. And now...wow! I can say 12 years of reverse harem! Thank you for supporting the blog all through the years. If you are new to the site, welcome to Reverse Harem Garden! 


This year, I have made a lot of changes and tried new stuff. I am blogging more, I am catching up on backlog and I am watching shows as they air. Yey! So what does the future holds? I have so many plans but these are my priorities at the moment: 
  • Finally post my long, overdue Top 10 anime right after I finish my backlog. I'm down to three anime! That means, Youtube videos and other content to follow.
  • If you are from the Philippines, I am planning to sell merchandise.   
  • I've started another project that will be available for all.
I have also updated Patreon again a few months back which sums up my personal life at the moment. I was expecting to go back to work again after taking a pause with life (my brother passed away in January) but we found out in May that my 3-year-old son has autism. It's critical that I stay at home to focus on his developmental needs. 

Reverse Harem Garden is first and foremost a hobby and my passion so I have always been shy to monetize and or share my personal life. But since I have the opportunity to stay at home now, I'm going to go all out and give my best!

Anime Review: Kiskis! My Boyfriends are Mint Candies!

Kiskis! My Boyfriend are Mint Candies!- 4 episodes Tang Tang meet guys who each represent a flavor of mint candies. It has a catchy, cute opening. At first there's a different feel on it which I can't pinpoint. And then I realized that they are talking in Chinese! This is my first completed Chinese animation. Well since it was way too easy to finish it. It's 5-minute ONA for 4 episodes. I think this premiered last June 4. But the first Chinese animation I watched is still currently airing (unconfirmed reverse harem), Phantom in the Twilight, which is a collaboration between Japan and China. Oh back to back Chinese reviews after The Flame's Daughter. Is China going to be booming with reverse harem now?

  The video above is Levels of Reverse Harem version 2 (also posted  here ) Reverse Harem titles were very limited when I first started the blog eleven years ago. I was flexible with many titles where it's only one or two guys interested in the female protagonist and other gray areas. But we are now at a point where I can be strict with labeling reverse harem. Let's start with the classification of reverse harem-ness. This is for my sake too if in case I run off course again. 1. Five Flowers - This is literally reverse harem. The heroine has a harem of her own in her inner chamber. And we only have one example for this, manga and drama, Ooku. UPDATE: Please check STAGES OF REVERSE HAREM for more examples.

Drama Review: I Have Three Boyfriends

  I Have Three Boyfriends kdrama- 10 episodes  The story starts with Ra Hee going on a date after another with her three boyfriends. She's frantically trying not to get caught. The drama will unravel how she got herself into this dilemma.  This is the first reverse harem I've seen about cheating female main character. Certainly, this is bound to happen in reverse harem. BTW,  My favorite boyfriend is the domineering director.   It was not believable at first but it got me hooked. The story is milking the coincidences to the hilt.   The ending is unexpected and here all along I was under the impression that it's going to be open-ended. Sorry, to keep this review short as it's a short drama with  15 minutes runtime per episode.  This is the last of my backlog reviews from a couple of years ago. Anime Review: Kamisama Hajimemashita OVA and Kako-Hen

Kamisama Hajimemashita OVA It consists of two 15-minute-ish episodes. The first episode is based on the manga while the second one is an original story. In the first episode, Tomoe is keeping a secret from Nanami, while in the second episode Tomoe and Nanami go on a trip. It's just appetizers so I recommend watching this first before the main course which is Kako Hen. Kamisama Hajimemashita Kako Hen- ( Kamisama Kiss Past Arc) It consists of five OVAs that were bundled on different volumes. Tomo is afflicted with a curse and the only way to save him is for Nanami to travel back in time.
