Reverse Harem Garden

2020 has changed everyone on a global scale. And in the future when someone looks back to what happened with reverse harem for this year...well hello there stranger. Here it is.  Let's start with reverse harem anime . This is the least number of four-level flowers (see  Levels of Reverse Harem ) that we have in years with My Next Life as a Villainess and Mr. Love Queen's Choice . For two flowers (surrounded by bishonen but only one or two guys like the heroine), we have Fruits Basket 2nd Season. For one flower (surrounded by boys but the focus is not romance), we have A3! Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love Kingdom I already started a list of things to write for the year but we made a last-minute decision to travel back to my hometown. So there goes my plan for posting Year in Review a few days before the New Year's. The past year was life-changing for me and as a result, I am back to focusing and making a lot of changes with Reverse Harem Garden. Let's start with the review and the reverse harem shows/movies for 2019:

Akatsuki no Yona It's the time of the year again. And for the first time in ages, I am posting this right exactly on the last day of the year! Yay! Looking back, I feel like these all happened eons ago. Do you get that feeling too? Let's take a quick trip down the memory lane. This year, we have 7 anime, 5 dramas and 4 movies. Here's the list:

Reverse Harem Garden actually turned ten last September. Sorry, for the late post. But be warned, to compensate for the late post this is going to be a very lengthy one. You may be familiar with this already. For the longest time, I kept on looking for animes similar to my all-time favorite, Fushigi Yugi. I didn't know exactly what I was looking for. But then I chanced upon Ouran High School Host Club and I had a lightbulb moment like the Ouran boys when I heard Kirimi uttered two words that will later become my passion for the next ten years. It also opened up my world to mangas, Asian dramas, novels and otome games as chronicled here in Reverse Harem Garden. Let's look back at all the trends and notable events that happened in the past ten years. In 2007, we only have a handful of animes and dramas. And I was only discovering reverse harem mangas. from Kenka Bancho Otome And just like that it's time for Year in Review again. While doing the review, I realized it was a slow year for reverse harem shows and movies. We only had four animes:  Kenka Bancho Otome: Girl Beats Boys, Code Realize, Ikemen Sengoku and Dance with Devils: Fortuna movie, which are all otome game adaptations. The rest of the Winter 2018 anime shows will be airing next year: Idolish 7 Dame X Prince, Yuuwaku Office Lover 2 and Gekijouban Tokimeki Restaurant ☆☆☆ MIRACLE 6. For dramas, we have Ani ni Aisaresugite Komattemasu jdrama, Ani ni Aisaresugite Komattemasu movie and Five which are manga adaptations. I'm not sure yet with Seizei Ganbare Mahou Shoujo Kurumi and Good Morning Call Our Campus Days. And oh yeah we have one American TV show, She's Gotta Have it.

Yay. Super late Year in Review again and by far the least posts for a year. I'm sorry, guys! m(._.)m But the reverse harem titles are definitely much more compared to the previous year. For 2016, we had more or less confirmed 9 reverse harem animes and with just two based from mangas, Kiss Him, Not me and the second cour of Akagami no Shirayuki-hime and one multimedia project like B-Project. The rest is all based from otomes. That's including sequels from Uta Prince no Sama and Hakuouki. The prevailing reverse harem theme for animes is musical with Uta Prince, B-Project, Scared Rider Xech and Magic Kyun Renaissance.

                          It's already 2016.  I didn't finish this post yesterday and I accidentally deleted the draft post and I had to redo it. But as they say, better late than never! Let's take a look with what happened last year with the trends and highlights of the year.

Kamigami no Asobi Here's to my first ever year in review! To start off, the animes are still dominated by otome adaptations with Kamigami no Asobi series, La Corda  d'Oro Blue Sky series, Hakuouki movie part 2, Jyuzaengi Engetsu Sangokuden OVA and Brothers Conflict OVA. Otome apps in smartphones are also increasing by the numbers and in fact it spawned ONA, Bonjour Koiaji Patissierie. There's also numbers of otomes being ported to PS Vita, while a few were given English versions in mobile phones like  Heart no Kuni, Hakuouki and Hiiro no Kakera. There were also major news announced this year: the English version of Ozmafia, the third season of Uta Price no Sama anime series and the 20th anniversary remake of the first reverse harem game, Angelique. There's a lone manga adaptation this year which is Akatsuki no Yona.
