Manga Review: Boss Bride Days Volume 1

Boss Bride Days Volume 1 by Narumi Hasegaki (Gokutsuma Days: Gokudou Sankyoudai ni semaretemasu)

Sakura Kisaragi is a shut-in, otaku comfortable spending her days playing her favorite yakuza dating sim game. Life imitates art when she finds herself in the middle of real-life yakuza succession which hinges on whomever among the three brothers wins her heart.

There's something about gangster trope that you already love it, without even reading it yet. It did not disappoint with the characters' visuals and charm. Sakura's expressions with her glasses and her hair make her cool and dangerous. Especially when she's spewing lines straight from Yakuza dating sim, which is so cute by the way, and will lead her to this dilemma. The three guys are Shusuke, the popular and eldest; Reo, the middle child unrivaled in strength; and the youngest Ryusei, smart and tactician.

The manga can be easily labeled as four flowers (three guys or more vying for the heroine, more on Levels of Reverse Harem) but since it is the first volume there's only one brother so far interested in her, and by the looks of it he seems to be the main guy too. I'm looking forward to the second guy with his rebellious look and funny quips. There's not much going on yet for the third guy so let's wait and see. Based on the manga covers, it looks like it's featuring a brother for each volume. At one point, she referred to them as her fiances, and having said that, you do need to check: Stages of Reverse Harem (How To Build Your Own Reverse Harem).

Given the yakuza x reverse harem tropes, it is given that it will be light and silly however the treatment had its weak points. It feels like a oneshot manga, like you already how it will go and end. And there is an attack incident towards Sakura that is so strange. They were focused on getting the culprit and punishment instead of checking on her safety. But still, overall, it is fun, promising and it's just getting started. Plus, as per MU that the manga ranked number one on the app, Palcy. Forget what I said earlier, I am looking forward to all the imaginary shenanigans that Sakura will have with each brother.

Kiskis! My Boyfriend are Mint Candies!- 4 episodes Tang Tang meet guys who each represent a flavor of mint candies. It has a catchy, cute opening. At first there's a different feel on it which I can't pinpoint. And then I realized that they are talking in Chinese! This is my first completed Chinese animation. Well since it was way too easy to finish it. It's 5-minute ONA for 4 episodes. I think this premiered last June 4. But the first Chinese animation I watched is still currently airing (unconfirmed reverse harem), Phantom in the Twilight, which is a collaboration between Japan and China. Oh back to back Chinese reviews after The Flame's Daughter. Is China going to be booming with reverse harem now?

I Have Three Boyfriends kdrama- 10 episodes The story starts with Ra Hee going on a date after another with her three boyfriends. She's frantically trying not to get caught. The drama will unravel how she got herself into this dilemma. This is the first reverse harem I've seen about cheating female main character. Certainly, this is bound to happen in reverse harem. BTW, My favorite boyfriend is the domineering director. It was not believable at first but it got me hooked. The story is milking the coincidences to the hilt. The ending is unexpected and here all along I was under the impression that it's going to be open-ended. Sorry, to keep this review short as it's a short drama with 15 minutes runtime per episode. Anime Review: Kamisama Hajimemashita OVA and Kako-Hen

Kamisama Hajimemashita OVA It consists of two 15-minute-ish episodes. The first episode is based on the manga while the second one is an original story. In the first episode, Tomoe is keeping a secret from Nanami, while in the second episode Tomoe and Nanami go on a trip. It's just appetizers so I recommend watching this first before the main course which is Kako Hen. Kamisama Hajimemashita Kako Hen- ( Kamisama Kiss Past Arc) It consists of five OVAs that were bundled on different volumes. Tomo is afflicted with a curse and the only way to save him is for Nanami to travel back in time.
