All the characters are affected by the attack on Rose's life. It had serious consequences when you have guys who deeply care for her and are all key figures coincidentally both in the political arena and the background. From prince heir and royal diplomat to mages, spy, and assassin.
When there are too many guys invested in the heroine, especially in the written format and a series at that, you will come to the point that you will hate the heroine because you will be hyperaware of her flaws (just like it was for me in The Ghost Bird series). That's why the multi-POV is critical to make it work and the author has an excellent command of that.
And we finally get the most important POV we haven't seen from all six volumes. It's the POV from Leon. My only problem with the series is the age gap between Leon and Rose hence it was zero chemistry for me. But as Rose is getting older and as we get the long-time coming POV, my stance started crumbling from the sixth volume, and by the seventh volume, it is effectively decimated to the ground. It also feels so intrusive to get into his thoughts. The first time I felt this was with The Strongest Knight is Actually a Cross-Dressing Noblewoman?! light novel. And it's like reading those period bodice-ripper romance paperback novels minus the bodice-ripping.
My mind didn't fully internalize...again.. the cast of characters' pictures above and went straight ahead to reading it. The boys particularly Lutz and Teo had a glow-up. They are already cute, to begin with, but they've also become older and more handsome. In my head, they are still in their childish features and it should have been given already that they should also get older like Rosemary. Gahh! And look at Ratte, Crow, and Klaus! Sigh!
The latest count of characters wanting to be included in her trousseau has been updated from one to three. And it's not surprising if it keeps on growing. Leon will have a rude awakening if he thinks he'll have Rosemary for himself. No siree you will have annoying men on her heels.
The volume's finale reminded is totally unexpected and reminiscent of young adult sci-fi dystopia but with a typical reverse harem element. I love how the characters from Lapter are introduced and how an unassuming character from earlier volumes will actually be an important one at this stage.
This volume is the shortest in the series but it sure is packed with non-stop action and romance. And for the shortest one, I have been very, very chatty than usual. What can I say? I just love this series. And it got me thinking now I wanted to read another book from the same author and upon checking it's only this so far and there's another recent addition. Guess what? It's "I Got Reincarnated in a Delinquent Manga, Why is the Gang Leader Feeding Me" (Yankee Manga ni Tensei shitara Naze ka Souchou ni Ezukesareteimasu). The delinquent x reverse harem manga that was posted on the blog earlier this month. This needs to be licensed too.
