Shima Shima by Sayaka Yamazaki 5 volumes - complete
Shio runs an aromatherapy salon which is also a front for "Striped Sheep". She provides young men as sleeping companion for women who have trouble sleeping. It's the literal meaning of sleeping just so you know. Anyway these young men also happens to live in her house. There's a live action tv adaptation too which I'm planning to watch as well.
Misupuri by Madoka Seizuki 2 volumes- ongoing Himeoka vows to win "Miss Princess" despite being tomboyish. Can she win with the help of 4 butlers? Two chapters are now available. Also this is from Neoromance and there's a DS version of it. Two of the characters were also featured in the Starlight and Christmas greetings below.
Nao was enrolled by her grandfather in an all-boy technical school. She hates the manual job, the unruly boys and yearns for girl classmates, normal life and cute uniform. The first 5 episodes were inspirational, fun and promising but at episode 6 it's too repetitive. The romance department was very slow too. Takei Emi is really pretty and refreshing but her character as Nao is so annoyingly clumsy. I love the soundtrack “Soredemo Shinjiteru” by Funky Monkey Baby.
Despite the disappointment I would still love to read the Asuko March manga. You may also check out other mangas with a girl in all-boy technical school setting: Dear School Gang Leader and Ookamidomo no Shitsukekata.
It's about a poor student who has to work in the highschool host club for breaking an expensive vase. I had apprehension when they first released teasers with Neko chan on the cover. I was expecting a totally different Ouran. Episode 1 was very awkward but after episode 2 I was back in Ouran wonderland again.
They are perfect for their roles well except for Yusuke (Tamaki). Acting wise he's great but he's just too popular and so much associated with his past roles. Shunsuke (Kyoya) reminds me of a young Shun Oguri. I was disappointed that Haruna doesn't look like Haruhi at all but she grew on me. Kudos to the twins for not cringing when they stare-fest at each other!!!
The storyline and number of episodes are timed and executed well. The comic scenes are a classic. They've retained the silliness and added more heart and reason. The backstories are not rushed. The silliness and randomness in the anime seems to never end …
There will be a 4-episode mobile drama adaptation of Ouran entitled Ouran High School Host Club ~Haruhi no Happy Birthday Daisakusen~. It's written by Bisco Hatori and will be 5 minutes long for each episode. It will air in January 6 featuring the same cast. From tokyohive.
There will also be a musical stage adaptation of Hakuouki from April 27 to May 8. Official site here. via Hakuouki LJ.
