Kiskis! My Boyfriend are Mint Candies!- 4 episodes Tang Tang meet guys who each represent a flavor of mint candies. It has a catchy, cute opening. At first there's a different feel on it which I can't pinpoint. And then I realized that they are talking in Chinese! This is my first completed Chinese animation. Well since it was way too easy to finish it. It's 5-minute ONA for 4 episodes. I think this premiered last June 4. But the first Chinese animation I watched is still currently airing (unconfirmed reverse harem), Phantom in the Twilight, which is a collaboration between Japan and China. Oh back to back Chinese reviews after The Flame's Daughter. Is China going to be booming with reverse harem now?

Heartful Kareshi by Moa Hato - 16 chapters - completed Hiyoko Tosoka is the only human in the very prestigious Saint PigeoNation Academy. The pigeons have pseudo human appearances.  I liked the premise of being the only human in all-pigeon school which is like the play of the usual only girl in an all-boy school. But aside from that there's basically no driving plot in the story. It's more of a slice-of-bird-life than a reverse harem per se. But this is based on the otome or visual novel dating sim and it's popularity led me to reading it. It’s confusing to track who’s who even if they have human representations and different personalities. But I have to admit they’re really cute in both in their pigeon and human forms. It also doesn't help that the heroine is in a first person shooting game mode and her only identifying attribute looks closest to a chicken drumstick. Starry Sky - 26 episodes Tsukiko is the only female student in the formerly all-boy astronomy school, Seigetsu Academy. She meets different boys (and men) who represent each of the constellations. There's no major goal or conflict in the anime. Can I say it's a slice of life? It's practically how the year went by with background stories and flashbacks of how they all meet and how they are related to each other.     I've been posting monthly wallpapers of Starry Sky for years now and all this time I had no idea of who they all are. I watched only three episodes back then and placed it on hold after finding it boring. But before I know it four springs, four summers, four autumns and three winters have passed. This is the most classic example of procrastination. Gomen! But now that I have finally finished watching it. I actually liked it. It's simple yet deep. I am a Piano by Asumiko Nakamura - oneshot It's a journey of a piano represented by a girl. It's just 8 pages and yet it draws lengthy reviews from readers. Although I've read it like under 5 or 10 minutes it took me more than a few days to decide if anthropomorphic characters count for reverse harem. Just read it and be captivated as well. Fruits Basket- 26 epsidoes based on Natsuki Takaya's manga Tohru is "adopted" by the Somas and becomes privy to the clan's secret curse. They transform into a zodiac animal whenever hugged by the opposite sex or whenever they are under stress. I find this very popular anime too wholesome for my liking even with its suggestive nudity. Overall it's kawaii and will more likely appeal to a younger audience. Despite the clamor by fans, it was reported that there wouldn't be a second season. The opening song makes me smile and sad at the same time.
