Rishe Irmgard Weitzner is now on her 7th life after always being killed in one way or another by Prince Arnold Hein. But on the 7th time loop, her enemy has taken an interest in her.
This is a mix of my first impression here on the blog, mini-impressions, and mini-review from Patreon. And with some new insights.
7th Time Loop is entertaining and exciting. It makes you think of the possibilities and the interconnections. Her past six lives were summarized without being long-winded but just enough to pique our curiosity. The critical timing of each action or decision will lead to different outcomes or probable "romance routes". Or so I thought. No reverse harem romance but there's a bishonen for each life. Think Amnesia.
And this is by far, the fastest turn of events from a "love at first sight". I've been avoiding saying this is my favorite among the three because I also liked the other two winter 2024 anime, Demon Prince of Momochi House and Dr. Elise. From the start, the main leads have been consistently my favorite. They are strong individually and even stronger when together. Aside from the fact that their destinies are intertwined and they keep each other on their toes, they are just so darn cute together. It's hilarious to watch two brilliant people who don't know anything about love but do everything for love.
As the story progresses, I'm actually okay with "no romance routes" with the other characters. It became evident halfway through because it wouldn't make sense at all if they would all cramp it at the last minute. The others just don't have a chance at all since a lot has already happened to the main couple. Not unless, she fell in love with one of the guys or vice versa in one of her past lives. The side characters were just tools for the two main characters to fall in love with one another. But do they really have to be all guys? It just proves it is reverse harem-coded just like in Sugar Apple Fairy Tale.

The premise and the storytelling has its tells of its novel beginnings. And it had me wishing I had read the light novel. But I was disappointed with the ending even though this has been my favorite among the three winter anime. It is my least favorite type of conflict. In the latter end her ingenious ideas can be tiring at times, but I have to remind myself she fully lived six lives already. So let her be.
My only complaint with the animation and the fight scenes is that I am so going to compare this with the other two. But let's not. And I mean it in a way that I loved it. And another thing though, Rishe's character design is unique. It's like you can see the 3D shape of her face? And one of these days I need to update pink-haired characters.
Time loops are gaining momentum too in reverse harem with The 6th Loop: I'm Finally Free of Auto Mode manga and The 100th Time’s the Charm: She Was Executed 99 Times, So How Did She Unlock “Super Love” Mode?! light novel. For going back in time for a one-time re-do there's Doctor Elise anime/manhwa, Story of Kunning Palace cdrama, and Scent of Time cdrama. The Story of Kunning Palace is included in the Top 10 for 2023. The same concept of the path to becoming truly evil is averted when the guy meets the heroine. And I'm loving this enemies-to-lover trope in this context.
