First Impression: Omameda Towako to Sannin no Motootto Eps 1-3 (Omameda Towako and Her Three Ex-husbands)/Dear Exes
Omameda Towako lives just fine with her daughter. She's also recently appointed as president of a construction company. But her life is still entangled with her three ex-husbands. One she married suddenly, the second for comedy and the last for fantasy...from the words of her father.
The start shows a montage of mishaps that await Omameda. The voiceover reminds me of Kamisama Hajimemata while the dialogues remind me of Niosiosin's Pretty Boy Detective Club light novel. The storytelling is unusual but fun and rhetorical. The exchanges are rapid at times particularly between the second and third ex-husbands that half the time I don't absorb the wisdom they are trying to impart if there is one. It's a mishmash of random stuff that comes in perfect synchronicity of idiosyncrasies. What do I even mean?
The second episode starts with the latest ex-husband's backstory (Nakamura) and then works on its way up to the second ex-husband (Sato) in the third episode. Obviously, the first husband (Tanaka) will be on the fourth episode but we'll know more about him in the future review.
As of the first episode, the first ex-husband is just chill but he looks like he still cares for her. Meanwhile, the other two are such a handful. I don't know who's of the two is weird and weirder. But I felt sad for the third ex-husband, that he's still hung up on her. And I only found out after watching the drama that he (Okada Masaki) is Sekime Kyogo of Hana Kimi! He's easily the most eye-pleasing among the ex-husbands but after watching the second ex-husband, my heart just goes aww for him. I can see why Omameda (also) married him. He's a petty person but he will do anything to make sure he lives up with what he told her. The pretty boy is no match for the petty man. Now I can't wait for the first ex-husband's story. And one more thing the guys are being set up with other women...
And without me noticing it, it is actually an office drama too that shows the perspective from a caring, responsible boss. She balances the veterans and the young ones. The artistry vs. the budget. I'm looking forward to seeing her grow with her underlings.
Another older women and motherhood reverse harem drama! But certainly, the most creative reverse harem excuse that we have recently. For older women protagonists you can check out Was It Love, Oh My Baby and 38-sai. The closing song also featured the lead actress while the three ex-husbands sang the chorus. Tenyu of Mairunuvich also makes a cameo. Let me know if you're watching this too.
