You Are The Apple of My Eye gets a Korean remake. The movie is headlined by Jung Jin Young (of B1A4/ also in Love in Moonlight and Police University) and Dahyun (of Twice/also in Sprint). Source: Screendaily

The romantic comedy drama centres on a group of friends who attend a private school and all have a crush on the same girl, Sun-ah (Dahyun). Jung will play the only member of the group who claims not have feelings for the popular pupil, but ends up falling for her.

It is based on a 2011 Taiwanese film of the same name, You Are The Apple of My Eye. It was based on the novel, "The Girl We Chased Together in Those Years".

Sixteen-year-old Ko Ching Teng is a pupil at Chingchang High School, along with his pals “Boner”, the serious “Fattie” A Ho, the bragging “Cock Tsao” and the lascivious “Groin”. All have a crush on the brightest student in their class, goody two-shoes Shen Chia Yi, but she is only interested in her studies. When Ching Teng and Boner are caught fooling around in class, Ching Teng is made to sit in front of her and is put under her personal supervision. Chia Yi makes it her personal mission to get Ching Teng interested in taking schoolwork seriously.

You Are The Apple of My Eye also had two Thai adaptations. My Precious movie in 2023 and My Precious The Series which premiered last May 21, 2024. The movie is available on Netflix. (May not be available in all countries)

movie synopsis: Set in 1999, sixteen-year-old Tong and his friends Dong, Bank, Mai, and Pao regularly wreak havoc at school, giving the teachers headaches. As punishment for his prank in the middle of the classroom, Tong has to sit in front of Lin, the smartest and cutest girl in his class. While she is the object of affection for all of Tong’s friends, Tong is on the fence about Lin because he thinks that he is too awesome to like anyone. Nonetheless, the time spent studying together ultimately leads to a deeper bond and the beginning of first love that is impossible to forget, no matter how much time has passed.
