Shugo Chara Doki 51 episodes This is the sequel to Shugo Chara. New characters and charas introduced and re-introduced like Lulu and Nagahiko, the development of the love triangle between Tadase x Amu x Ikuto, the real deal about Easter and embryo at the ending, and a painfully lot of fillers in between them all. It's become less and less reverse harem and it was very tedious to watch. It had its high moments too but it would have been great if it was squeezed into maybe 13 episodes if the ending was going to be that preposterous and so out of the blue. Rayne won again! Two years I ran a poll while the first season of Neo Angelique Abyss was still airing. I decided to include this again since there were a development with the characters. Not all the characters are into Angelique by the way like Matthias and Erenfied. And we also have two android bishies: Jet and JD. No new animes for the summer. :( We only have one reverse harem drama to look forward to in September which is 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal'. Maid-Sama (up to 26 eps only) and Yume Pati (up to 50 eps) are still airing. I have about two months to catch up on my backlog!

Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan- 12 episodes While searching for her missing father, Chizuri finds herself taken in by the Shinsengumis. It's based on a historical otome game. The setting is warring late Edo period and the characters are based on historical characters of Japan. Then throw in bishie samurais, supernatural elements and downplayed gender bender. I didn't want to get my hopes too high thinking it would be another NeoRomance clone. I was way off wrong! I don't even know where to start. It's like a noir for otome-turned-anime genre. Ok I'll start with the story. To be honest I'm not familiar with the historical material but they were able to pull off a credible historical story with a reverse harem going on minus the cheesiness. I like the fact that it wasn't trying too hard to sell the reverse harem factor. I thought the 12 episodes is going to be too short but the fast pacing was executed very well.
