I really thought "K" is going to be a reverse harem with the bevy of bishonens. I dropped it after a couple of episodes. But my hopes for reverse harem has rekindled with the news of otome spinoff, "Gakuen K", where they're the club leaders in highschool. The game will be released next year. Diabolik Lovers -  12 episodes Yui was sent off by her father to live in a mansion with six sadistic vampire brothers. The operative word is "sadistic". Little girls, please watch this when you're older, 'kay? I love the overall gothic feel of the anime. From the beautiful character designs, and the red-purplish palettes down to the little details like the clock in the episode title cards. But as for the storyline, it creeps me out at first but as it progress it becomes repetitive. Each of the brother had their several turns of of harassment and of sucking her blood. I get it that it's going to have a lot of fan service since it's a vampire story after all. I was just not expecting non-stop fetish scenes. And that's for a 12-episode anime running for 15 minutes each (inclusive of 1 recap ep). If you were Yui, it would feel like 300 Shades of Gray (or in this case red), 360 degrees and 24/7 with the six Samaki brothers. At first, I find myself drawn

Princess Nightmare -2 volumes complete by Mei Noguchi Little goes to Rose Academy to experience normal life. (The heroine's name is so strange right? I liked how she got her name.) Little is actually a centuries-old teenage-wanabe vampire who's blending in with other supernatural friends but mysterious things starts happening in their school. I don' think my summary gives justice but I don't want to spoil it for you. I thought it was just your straight up average vampire story but there's a bigger, darker picture as the characters shows their true selves. And the scanlation left me hanging... I really wanted to know what happens next. I loved the story but so-so with the art style. It looks amateurish at times. This manga is based on an otome game. The picture above is from otome. Even if this seems fit for Halloween, the story started on one December fateful day. I'm trying too hard to sell this as a Christmas post. Hah!

Yoko Kamio's "Hana Yori Dango" manga has captured the world that it had spawned Japanese, Taiwanese and Korean live action dramas. Perfect Rose by Natsumi Oouchi 3 volumes- complete Hina is the morality officer in an all-girl school, Matsubase Academy. She especially disapproves the 4 bishies from their next-door all-boy school, Minamidate High School. But it was announced that the Minamidate will be closed. Suddenly the four hot guys are after the plain-looking Hina. The first scanlated chapter is just recently released and it's hot right on the heels of me reading Esoragoto Note. Esoragoto Note 5 chapters by Natsumi Oouchi -completed Ririko has a rare disease that caused her to be hospitalized for 10 years and to be expressionless. The only things that seems to keep her going are her friends in the hospital and a notebook of things to do when she gets better.  One word that comes to my mind is delicate. The art is lovely but the story itself seems to snap out at any moment. Like it's hanging on a balance. I find this half empty instead of half full. I think it will depend on the reader's perspective. My hubby finds the movie Life of Pi as a story of hope but I find it quite depressing. And mind you, I'm a very optimistic person. Anyway, it was also a coincidence that I got to read a Halloween-themed manga a few days after Halloween.  This is also from the same mangaka of  Himegimi no Aikon . Her art style is so different now compared to her earlier work.
