First Impression: Kdrama Was it Love eps 1-4 Hooked from first episode

No Ae Jung is a single mom and a film producer. She finds herself waist-deep in debt and her only way to pay it back is to produce a movie. And on top of that, these four men will make her life more complicated.

Okay, I said I was hooked from episode 1 but it was exactly in the last part of the first episode. This drama makes use of cliffhangers effectively. It's just so incredulous though that she will meet again the guys from her past all at the same time. Actually, not all of them. It reminds me of kinda reverse harem drama, Reply 1994, where it keeps going to the present as the drama is set in 1994 and teases you of who she got married to in the present. (One of the guys in WIL is also in Reply 1994) In Was it Love, we get flashbacks from 14 years ago of who might be the father of her daughter. The past is keeping me on my toes of what really happened. It was not obvious at first but as it goes on I think we know who the father and the main guy is. Well, I wouldn't mind being proven wrong. I usually lose interest when the cat's out of the bag so I really hope we don't get to that point. I don't get too critical with coincidences in kdrama but Was it Love is the mother of all coincidences so I am really banking on that. And since we're punny, special mention to the movie title she's pitching, Husbands Over Flowers.

I was not too keen when I found Was it Love is airing right on the heels of Oh My Baby. Thirty-something heroines at different stages of motherhood. The first one wants to be a mom while the other one is a single mom. I am not against it or anything I am actually the same age as the actress, Song Ji-Hyo. I guess, its too much reality for me. I could relate to the adult problems in Oh My Baby and now this. I had my first son when I was 18 and got married by 19. But the drama has this outlandish storyline and so okay I'm gonna indulge with this.

No favorite guy yet but two of the characters stood out for me. The drama has hyped the stereotypes but I appreciate it when they reveal there is still more to unravel from their characters. No Ae Jung is pretty but I don't know if I like her acting or not from the start but it grew on me. The mother actress is everywhere in kdramaland. Her daughter is irritating, sorry. And what's the deal with the judgey parents just because she's single mom Grrrr!

Was It Love heroine also have something in common with another summer reverse harem, Mr. Queen's Love Choice anime. You probably guessed it. They are both producers. All-Time Top Ten Reverse Harem Anime

Hello Wallflowers! I am not going to do a decade in review since I did that already a couple of years ago. but I am loooong overdue for my top 10 anime. I actually made one coincidentally a decade ago but it's a consolidated top 10 of everything from anime, manga and dramas as the titles are fewer back in 2010. I should have done it sooner but it's the nagging feeling that I should finish everything before I can post this. What if there's a hidden gem in my backlog that piled up beginning 2015 (due to pregnancy)? Fast forward to last year and major life events later, I have finished nine anime in eight months. It felt like forever. And after that, I found out I could actually start the list even without watching the backlog. LOL But the good thing is I was able to finish it and that has put off a lot of guilt feelings from me. I mean who blogs about reverse harem and never watches past the first episode??? These are all paid apps but they all come with free prologues to tempt your wallets. Finally, English games that are accessible! I wish I can just pay it in my local currency rather than credit card. "Pirates in Love" is the first title of Voltage Romance Sims. It's available both in itunes and play. You'll have to pay for each characters and epilogues. I really want to play Eduardo! "My Forged Wedding" is also from Voltage and are also available in itunes and play . The prologue doesn't give away the details as to why exactly they need to fake the wedding but check out the video above to have an idea why. I'm gravitating to Saeki (the ladies man) and Yamato (the rude guy). Also, the "uncle" seems to be play-able character in the future. Interesting. ...

Anime Review: Kiskis! My Boyfriends are Mint Candies!

Kiskis! My Boyfriend are Mint Candies!- 4 episodes Tang Tang meet guys who each represent a flavor of mint candies. It has a catchy, cute opening. At first there's a different feel on it which I can't pinpoint. And then I realized that they are talking in Chinese! This is my first completed Chinese animation. Well since it was way too easy to finish it. It's 5-minute ONA for 4 episodes. I think this premiered last June 4. But the first Chinese animation I watched is still currently airing (unconfirmed reverse harem), Phantom in the Twilight, which is a collaboration between Japan and China. Oh back to back Chinese reviews after The Flame's Daughter. Is China going to be booming with reverse harem now?

Manga Review: Futei de Furachi na Ani desu ga

Futei de Furachi na Ani desu ga (My Handsome Brothers) by Yuki Shiraishi 5 chapters (complete) Ayumu feels like a goose with her clingy and school's popular Shiratora brothers. Only 1 chapter is available so far. I wonder if the scanlators meant duckling. Anyway, the animal reference is not something new since it's from the same mangaka who wrote other two reverse harems: Ookamidomo no Shitsukekata (wolves) and Bokura no Himitsu wo Kyouyuu shiyou ka (animal love story) . I don't remember really liking her art before but I sure do now.
