Manga Review: Rosen Blood, Vol. 1

Stella wakes up in a mansion with four beautiful and mysterious residents - Levi, Friedrich, Yoel, and Gilbert. What secrets are they hiding?

It's no secret to us readers that this is a vampire manga. Being a vampire manga and a reverse harem at that may be its charm but it is also its downfall. There's already a preconceived notion of us what to expect in the story thanks to Diabolik Lovers and Vampire Knight and other vampire media for that matter. But then again, I don't mind being proven wrong. And even with that notion, I have signed up precisely for that notion.

Based on the mangaka's art on Twitter, I was also under the impression it's going to be more mature but it is surprisingly sweet with hints of naughtiness. Think Diabolik Lover but asking for consent from her. Still, it may be too early for that. It felt like an introduction book though which it is after all and the things we are expecting I mean story proper will start in the next volume. The ending has a very and I mean very promising premise. Meanwhile, the vibe of the setting feels like gothic Beauty and the Beast.

My only issue with the story is how easily she accepted what happened to her and adjusted her role in their lives. The same abruptness can also be applied to Levi and Stella's banters but on the contrary, theirs has a charm that was unexpected. I live for Levi's blushing serious face. Friedrich can be fun too. Yoel is beautiful. And well Gilbert is scary but there's something more behind it. Levi is my favorite character for now but I am still open to changing my capricious mind with all these guys. It is safe to say that it is looking like four flowers or all into her (see Levels of Reverse Harem) and as the cover shows this volume is Levi's. The next volume covers are in this order: Friedrich's, Yoel's, and then Gilbert's. The manga will end on its fifth volume and I'm looking forward to the cover reveal.

The ebook is not available for this manga so I have to wait for this to be shipped which took like three or four months to my country and well life happened and here we are. There's something about the glossy cover that makes Levi so mesmerizing. I liked all the character designs but I'm particularly looking forward to seeing Yoel's soft and ethereal looks on the glossy cover. Now dear wallflowers should we review the next volume? All-Time Top Ten Reverse Harem Anime

Hello Wallflowers! I am not going to do a decade in review since I did that already a couple of years ago. but I am loooong overdue for my top 10 anime. I actually made one coincidentally a decade ago but it's a consolidated top 10 of everything from anime, manga and dramas as the titles are fewer back in 2010. I should have done it sooner but it's the nagging feeling that I should finish everything before I can post this. What if there's a hidden gem in my backlog that piled up beginning 2015 (due to pregnancy)? Fast forward to last year and major life events later, I have finished nine anime in eight months.
