Kin-iro d'Corda or La Corda d'Oro~ Primo Passo (The Golden String or The Golden Cord)- 25 episodes based on otome game and adapted into manga by Yuki Kuri
Hino Kahoko is just an ordinary student but her life changes when the music fairy gives her power to play the violin. She unwittingly agrees to enter the muscial concours against the music prodigies. The "La Corda d'Oro" is delicately drawn and filled with classical music. It's like a fine dining experience. The story is sweet and captivating at first but it became very serious near the end. The manga is ongoing as well, so if there would a be another season I hope it could redeem itself. I'm one Yunoki's crazed fan, I like his true personality. The operatic pop opening "Brand New Breeze" by Kanon is perfect for the anime and has a recall value.

Updated review on Top 10. 1/24/2020:
I think it has something to do with me watching Magic Kyun Renaissance recently. It has awakened my sleeping emotions from the time I first watched La Corda. This is the next anime I watched after Ouran. I loved the soundtrack! I can still remember the opening and closing songs of the earlier reverse harem that I've watched especially this one. I also enjoyed the competitions and of course the bishonen. This is the first otome game adaptation that I have seen so I was a newbie to the idea of the open-ended question of who she will end up with. I did not enjoy La Corda d'Oro Secondo Passo and Blue Sky. Even though I loved this, the rewatchability factor is low for me. I think it went downhill with the ending. But this cemented my deal for bad boy types or in this case the hidden evil personality.

My friend advised me to watch it, but I couldn't. It was too sweet and too stupid. If you tell that the end is serious - i don't know - maybe I should give it another try?
ReplyDeleteCan anyone give me a link to an English dubbed version of the series? I've been trying to find one but have been unsuccessful so far..
ReplyDeleteThere's no English dub, and it probably won't ever have one as the anime isn't that popular. I found the anime and the manga both lacking. The story line is slow as hell and the character/relationship development is minimal. I read the manga and watched the anime, and do not recommend.
