Anime Review: Brothers Conflict


Brothers Conflict - 12 episodes

Ema fathers remarries and finds herself with new stepbrothers...13 of them! Conflicts ensues as each of the brother confesses for Ema.

At first, I wasn't too keen with the character art and story. They look distorted especially Ema, Azusa and Tsubaki. But then again, it's I think it's because I already knew the story. If I get to read the book before the movie I will most likely not like the movie. And vice versa, if I already watched the book I will most likely not read the book. The same goes with mangas/novels and animes. But as the series progress, my love for  it has reawaken. Check out my thoughts on the novel's summaries here. The novel is now on it's second volume. Let's hope for a second season in the future. They still have Iori's conflict to cover. 

The ending song "14 to 1" deserves a separate discussion. The story is already pure fanservice to reverse harem fans. 13 brothers after 1 girl? But making them all sing and dance?? It's really too much for me. I'm way beyond nirvana now. Ugh! I want them all to be my stepbrothers!

There are so many otome adaptations that I can easily choose for the character designs and bishonen. Hakuouki, Amnesia, Code Realize, Meiji Tokyo, Kamigami no Asobi, Arcana Famiglia, Prince of Stride. I can go on and on. But their stories were just not compelling enough for me to honestly call it my favorite. Except for Brothers Conflict.  Brothers Conflict has a slice of life feel. Nothing supernatural. But okay 13  stepbrothers is a tad overboard and may be considered the fantasy with the wish fulfillment aspect of having so many hawt stepbrother. Normally the higher the bishonen count, the harder it is to differentiate or make them shine but for Brothers Conflict they all stood out in their own way. Even though it's an otome adaptation it has a manga feel on it. The story does not make sense and gets away from reason but it makes you go protective of it and say back off I love this! But alas, rewatchability and reading light novel/manga is at 50/50. But if they will have a second season, that's another story. I'm all for it!

    I would choose either Yuusuke or Natsume. Personally I think she'll end up with Natsume because they seem to have the most in common, and he seems to actually respect her.

    Honestly my favorites are Futo, Yuusuke and Louis. Like I really love them! Oh and Hikaru is the funniest of them all :)

    I have got to say I absolutely love Futo and Iori. Sadly I think she might end up with one of the twins. I mean they are pretty much the faces of BroCon :(

    I absolutely loved BroCon. But I was super depressed when they ended it on a cliff hanger. I really hope they air another season. Mainly because I cant find English translations of the second season manga and I sadly know absolutely no Japanese....well except for the entire BroCon ending song...

    Uhm hello there :) I was wondering if you could suggest reverse harems? Maybe your favorite ones? For the past days, I have been watching reverse harem animes and now I'm a big fan of it! I have already watched Brothers Conflict, Diabolik Lovers, Ouren High School Host Club and I really love them! <3 Problem is I can't find animes which are somehow similar to them.

    Btw, may I ask if Starry Sky is a reverse harem? Because I watched the first 5 episodes I think and they're just introductions of the boys.

      Why hello there kababayan hehe! Sorry for the late reply. If you like light-hearted and funny RH, you can try Kamisama Hajimemashita and Kaichou-wa Maid Sama. Since you liked DiaLov, you might like Amnesia. It's also dark but way tamer. My personal faves are Fushigi Yugi (but it's old) and Saiunkoku Monogatari. Sorry I still haven't finished StaSky. I think I've watched 5-6 eps only but otomes turned manga/anime are generally considered as rh.

All-Time Top Ten Reverse Harem Anime

Hello Wallflowers! I am not going to do a decade in review since I did that already a couple of years ago. but I am loooong overdue for my top 10 anime. I actually made one coincidentally a decade ago but it's a consolidated top 10 of everything from anime, manga and dramas as the titles are fewer back in 2010. I should have done it sooner but it's the nagging feeling that I should finish everything before I can post this. What if there's a hidden gem in my backlog that piled up beginning 2015 (due to pregnancy)?  Fast forward to last year and major life events later, I have finished nine anime in eight months. It felt like forever. And after that, I found out I could actually start the list even without watching the backlog. LOL But the good thing is I was able to finish it and that has put off a lot of guilt feelings from me. I mean who blogs about reverse harem and never watches past the first episode??? Sadly, I don't remember most of the story of the anime...

English Otome Mobile Apps

English otome apps are now available in smartphones! The art and the bishies are eye candy and the   premises are engaging. These are all paid apps but they all come with free prologues to tempt your wallets. Finally,  English games that are accessible! I wish I can just pay it in my local currency rather than credit card. "Pirates in Love" is the first title of Voltage Romance Sims. It's available both in itunes and play. You'll have to pay for each characters and epilogues. I really want to play Eduardo! "My Forged Wedding" is also from Voltage and are also available in itunes and play . The prologue doesn't give away the details as to why exactly they need to fake the wedding but check out the video above to have an idea why. I'm gravitating to Saeki (the ladies man) and Yamato (the rude guy). Also, the "uncle" seems to be play-able character in the future. Interesting. ...

Winter Reverse Harem Dramas 2021 Reviews Part 1: Fling at Convenience Store, No Going Back Romance, Life of Namjoo, 3B No Koibito, Mairunovich & Girl2k

This is the record-breaking number of dramas in one season! Nine reverse harem dramas not including 300 Year-Old Class of 2020 which seems like a promotional show? I can't see myself doing one review at a time. It's going to take me forever so I'll review them in one go. I have yet to finish cdramas: Celestial Authority Academy, In Love With Your Dimples and Unique Lady/Lascivious Lady Season 2. Those are 20+ episodes each.  It's also hard to rank them as they have different formats but I've grouped them according to country of origin. Some are super short whilst others are just right. There were some that I loved but the ending left me sad. And there was one or maybe two that are not a reverse harem! Reverse harem baiting!!! asdfjisojgjrjgk And there's one drama where the heroine didn't choose anyone!
