First Impression: My Next Life as a Villainess Episodes 1-3


Eight-year-old Katarina Claes hits her head and realized she's a teenage otaku who's now living her life inside the Fortune Lover game. And as the title has given away...in a villainess role. She's doing her best to circumvent the routes that will lead to her doom. 

This is not really a 'first impression' since we're now at episode 3. Lol. I'm just trying to be chill but I'm really way too hyped for this anime especially since a lot of you recommended this way back before the news of anime adaptation. Guess what...I'm loving it!  It started strong and with each episode, I feel like it can't do anything wrong but I did see some warning about the source material. I have not read the light novel so no spoilers, please. 

I also love the opening song and video. The inside out moment (I wonder if the element is from the light novel too). The humor. Katarina who has way too many hobbies and kind personality. I like all the guys well except the last one, but I'm hoping there's more than meets the eye. I am also curious of what will be the true personality of the seemingly lead guy. Meanwhile, for the other supporting characters, I didn't see that coming.

I hate the commonly used device in kdramas where they start the first episode as small children. I mean it is important in setting the story but I'm just not buying it since I can barely remember all the details I did as a kid. But it works with MNLAAV. I'm really having fun with all the characters as children and there's a slight disconnect when I see them all as grown up in half of episode 3 since you got used to their adorable younger selves. You really get your hopes too high now that you loved them in their younger versions. And yet I feel like everything is going way too easy for Katarina. I am excited about how the romance will play out and I'm afraid too that things will get serious as the 'game' has officially started. There's still one vital character left to be introduced. It's been a while since I watched a non-otome game reverse harem anime (even though it's about an otome game) so I just want to savor each episode. 

Since  I have way too many time now because of community quarantine, I got inspired to start, 'First Impression'. Okay, it's really an excuse since I can hardly contain my feelings. How about you? Let me know your thoughts for the anime.

    Katarina is one of the best Mc in isekais in my opinion! Really funny and active in her relationships with everyone, although the manga despicted much better graphics and flow i'm really excited about the series

Manga Review: Alice in Bishounen-Land Vol. 2 (final volume)

But once you got used to the humor, everything seems funnier this time around. The randomness of the backstories, the non-stop comical situations, and cheesy jokes. I'm loving them all now including the minor characters. The one thing that balances it all out is Alice. She's the shining beacon of reason and her spot-on observations make it more laughable.    For something crazy, it briefly touches 'beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder'. And it's not in your face at all. It is refreshing and satisfying to get some key takeaways from both volumes when you're least expecting one.  The isekai element of the story is set inside an otome

Anime Review: Kiskis! My Boyfriends are Mint Candies!

Kiskis! My Boyfriend are Mint Candies!- 4 episodes Tang Tang meet guys who each represent a flavor of mint candies. It has a catchy, cute opening. At first there's a different feel on it which I can't pinpoint. And then I realized that they are talking in Chinese! This is my first completed Chinese animation. Well since it was way too easy to finish it. It's 5-minute ONA for 4 episodes. I think this premiered last June 4. But the first Chinese animation I watched is still currently airing (unconfirmed reverse harem), Phantom in the Twilight, which is a collaboration between Japan and China. Oh back to back Chinese reviews after The Flame's Daughter. Is China going to be booming with reverse harem now?

Hello wallflowers! The season's lineup is a bit late as we do not have news of summer anime and dramas yet. For now we have kinda reverse harem, Dahlia in Bloom. I'm really hesitant in adding it in the lineup but as we don't have one yet might as well put this up. But I did see rumors of Lost You Forever Season 2 for July airing and Take Me Where the Clouds Rise (SaiMono) for Q3. I do hope it becomes true! However, I'm seeing comments that the latter drama did not get the license for adaptation huhu The Forbidden Garden edition has also been updated. Reverse Harem or Not a Reverse Harem? Part 3 of 3: Princess Maid (webcomic) 37 chapters - ongoing

Princess Maid/Maid to be a Princess (webcomic/manhua) 37 chapters - ongoing by Koowa Group & Ayu & Heibaigeer Princess Sophia is a spoiled princess of  Vesperang. Then overnight everything will be taken from her and the princess becomes a maid in the neighboring kingdom, Norterang. In Norterang there are five brothers: Alex, the cold eldest prince; Luka, the second prince loyal to Alex only; Cecil, the third prince with unknown motives, and the fourth prince Darcy who is sickly. There's a fifth brother not in the picture, the youngest prince Harry.   The start of the story is reminiscent of how Akatsuki no Yona started but instead of going with Hak she was taken by Su-Won. Manga Review: Monster and Parent Vol. 3

  Monster and Parent Volume 3 manga story and art by: Ichi Sayo  Saika learns what the godeaters truly are and it's not pretty. Meanwhile, Aki is starting to act strange. Disclaimer: A review copy was provided by the publisher, Jnovel. Check out the previous reviews for  Vol 1 and 2 .  The story turns serious and dark but in a good way as it nears its climax. E verything's on the table now including the current states of the godlings, Sow and Squeak. Okay, I'm 90% sure that Squeak is not part of the reverse harem since Saika is his mother figure. I swear manga tropes are going to be the death of me. This volume seamlessly tackled multiple flashbacks and in a short time, the characters are effectively given depth. And I just love them all. Squeak is so cute. Saika is so naive. (Not a compliment though) Mitsuri is cute when he's crushing over Izumi and scary at the same time towards Nagumo. Reverse Harem Turned BL

Orange Planet I thought it was a reverse harem until one errant bishie wanders off well to another bishie. Like the case of "Orange Planet". (Thanks to Keisha btw for the tip) "The Gentlemen's Alliance" almost didn't make it. "Milk Crown" fell short as well because of the BL. Anyway I'm not sure how "Billion Princess" will fare. "Billion Princess" by Yu Jia Yan 3 volumes- ongoing Bai Yao's dad heads a recording company but an accident transforms her from 'Billion Princess' to an aspiring manager who will start from zilch.
