The manga has been on my to read list and I was surprised to find out that the live action movie is currently playing in Japan's movie theatres now. A disease spread during Edo times and the male population has been reduced. The Shogun is a woman and she keeps a harem of men. Maki Horikita is part of the supporting cast too. It hit the theatres last October 1 and approximately 470 million yen, with about 400,000 tickets have been sold on it's first three days.
