Today is 10-10-10 and it's the best day to start my Top 10s! I was thinking of posting all my top tens but it's hard to make a list in one go so I'll post my other lists on some other dates.
These are my memorable and favorite titles that I will most likely rewatch if I ever get the time. My memory is not 100% photographic but I don't rewatch stuff since it's too boring for me and I'm so voracious in to reading or watching something different or new. Re-watchability = Favorite!
1. Fushigi Yugi (anime) - This started my love for anime. I watched this on cable. Ater watching the initial airing I wait again for the rerun episode. It's the anime that everybody loves and hates. I felt like I was watching a forbidden anime where the themes are being backlashed and criticized by other people. I was so hooked with story, the love between Miyaka and Tamahome and the bishies that where after Miyaka.
2. Ouran High School Host Club (anime) - The word Euraka is the right term when I discovered the term reverse harem. There like a lightbulb that appeard on my head just like on the first episode. It's light and funny and at the same time enduring that even non-reverse harem fans can't help but love this. It's attempt to poke fun on reverse harem itself is the novelty plus kawaii character art designs and their lovable personalities. The ending was very memorable too.
3. Saiunkoku Monogatari (anime) - I didn't like the political theme which was confusing at times but Shurei and the emperor kept me in my toes! I was so giddy when I watched this and it was right that time that I finally decided to blog about reverse harem as an outlet for my excess fangirl energies. The setting also reminds me of Fushigi Yui. The first season left me wanting for more and the second season was such a disappointment.
4. Hot Gimmick (manga)- This is the first manga that I got so addicted to page by page. Why do I sometimes love stories that everybody loves to criticize lol. The story also puts you in a situation wherein if you're a heroine you'd be too confused who to choose. I also love her art style.
5. Tenshi Ja Nai (manga)- There's a lot of mangas that deserves to be added on here but I haven't finished them yet so I've decided to write a separate entry about it later. This manga is not trying too hard. It's simple but I can feel the pureness of the characters even to this date I still remember and love how it perfectly ended.
6. Meteor Garden (tdrama)- Another drama that everybody loves to hate too lol. But to be fair this is the first Asian drama I've been hooked to. It was so unexpected that the bad guy will turn out to be the good guy.
7. Hana Yori Dango 1 & 2 (jdorama)- This is like the noir in all HYD live action dramas. It's so tearjerky! The drama puts a heavy feeling on your heart but it makes you nostalgic when you think about what they went through.
8. Boys Before Flowers (kdrama)- This is pure eye candy, pop and filthy over-the-top! The exact opposite of the Japanese version. They've done a good job in casting the characters who can act and also makes you forget that there's this one person who can't act because he looks so perfect with his character haha.
9. Hana Kimi jdorma (jdorama)- First jdorama that I watched. Non-stop crazy fun and very sweet moments too. I love Ikuta Toma's character. (which will be further explained on a different entry lol)
10. Sungkyunkwan Scandal (kdrama) This is still airing but it's already on my Top 10. I'm so obsessed with this! I can't wait to go home when I'm at the office just to watch the raws then once the raws becomes available I watch the subtitled version again. You know the feeling when you just finished reading Twilight and you can't wait to read the other books and you can't find it on sale and the agony hurts so much? That's how I'm so obsessed with this!
lol your top 10 is a mirror image of mine ^^, which got me thinking.. are you a filipina? haha
